Did five miles today (treadmill) for the first time in May. 10:10 pace -- one of my best. Nothing hurt. Doncha just love runs like that?

You know, I feel better the longer I run (within reason - I don't eat or drink on my runs, since they're < 1 hr), but I've noticed that I feel better after 30 minutes have passed. I guess the same on the bike, now that I think about it. It's nice because a year ago this time I was running about two miles max and simply couldn't imagine running five miles.

Someday I'll actually run six miles. I like to take my goals sloooooowly.

What, not zero to 7.4 miles in 4 weeks?

I had a great run on Tues. I'm saving the details for my training thread.

I think I'm going to try my first brick on Saturday.

5.2 on the fitness trail this afternoon. A beautiful, sunny day, just the right temperature. I was a little sore starting out, from a hard ride yesterday, but I settled in after about three laps and it felt good.

Wahine, I never did say a proper thank you for that warmup routine you posted a few weeks back. It's been a real help to me, really makes my ankles feel better. Plus, when I passed a guy on the trail today, he said, "Didn't I just see you running sideways?"

Well, last Sunday I walked/ran 14 miles. I had a swollen knee Sunday night. So I haven't run at all this week as I think my IT band has flared up.

I'm riding 75 miles tomorrow (Sat.) and if my knee fairs OK I'll be walking/running 2 hours on Sunday. We shall see what happens.

4 miles on the trail today after work! I ran from my house instead of driving over to the wooded trail like usual. Save me a bit of gas money. The roads are so unshaded that it gets really hot. It was a good run, other than that. Taking roads makes it much more of a hill run!
