My friend and teammate Linda Demma is part of Team Type 1, a team made up of Type 1 diabetics (juvenile onset). Any help, donations and prayers we can send her way would be great!

Or, just follow along on the RAAM site!

This year, in addition to the recumbent riders, I'm going to be rooting for Team Red Helmets. All the ages listed are over 60 (one was evidently shy, or figured it didn't matter that much ).

Oddly, I have a soft spot in my heart for strong, fully adult women.

why... team cyclonauts of course! I have had the pleasure of riding with Bernie Barge numerous times... what a great guy he is... clearly he is a consumate cyclist, but he's perfectly happy tooling along at whatever pace his friends are at and just enjoys the ride. To me, that is the epitome of cycling.

    GO CYCLONAUTS!

I will be rooting for Team Cyclonauts as well. I'm part of the team as coorespondent. I will be updating the blog and photo site. I will also be sending blog updates to bikejournal.com

    http://raamcyclonauts.com/index.htm

I'm hoping that when they come through Indianapolis to the time station on the South Side that I will be able to meet the team and take some photos. I'm extremely proud of the guys and gals that will be taking part in this. I don't think it's something I'd be able to do.

Duh!! Team Cyclonauts! They are great guys (the ones I have met at least!).

I am also rooting for solo 'bent rider Jim Kern. We had the pleasure of riding a big chunk of the Davis Double with Jim a couple of weeks ago - what a great guy. He was on his second lap of the double century.....

Well I have to go with the all Phoenix area team "emily".. Tho I do see Pam Reed has a team... She is one baaaaddd mama!! I really like her.
Last year a team from the palo verde nuclear plant out here did it. I live not too terribly far from there and I would see them riding to work everyday. Most of them rode 30-60+ miles to work! And these were not all young studs either! A few of the men older and were sporting some girth. I used to always give them a hearty wave. Just the other day I saw one of them riding w/ his RAAM jersey on and I remember thinking how cool it would be to earn one of THOSE!
And NO... I'm not contemplating that as my next challenge!

He's on "another forum", even though we've never met, I consider him a friend. When I found out he was doing this, and the story, it just made me so proud.

    Bump.

Well, my guy, Jim Kern, is out of the race. He was having lung problems & developed pulmonary edema in Durango. Not something you want to mess around with.

And he was doing so well on the climbs...

The 'bent team, Volae Wolf Pack is still doing well, though. I still have someone to pull for.

And don't forget the handcycle guys. Don't know how they do it, but they are kicking some major Behind.
