I've bought some new things recentlt that I'm just delighted with.
The first was a bit of a splurge for our trip to the Azores.
The Patagonia cashmere hoody....
I wear this thing everywhere - in the morning when I get up over my jammies, on the bike on my morning commute, out to dinner. It's getting a lot of use.
The second thing is a pair of Timberland shoes. I got them from LL bean, but I don't see them on the website anymore. I like these because they are comfortable in the classroom and feel good on the bike. It's a rare shoe that has a stiff enough sole for riding and can be worn when you're on your feet all day.
Finally, I want to think SadieKate for turning me on to Brown Cow yogurt with cereal for breakfast. And aka_Kim for suggesting the light coffee flavor. I look forward to breakfast.![]()

That too! I need the name of the bakery so I can make a special trip some weekend.Originally Posted by SadieKate
It's our local grocery, Nugget. It think there is one in Vacaville. Just try Portobella mushrooms. They're good in marinara over polenta also. Happy to broaden your eating horizons; you've certainly expanded my cycling experiences.

And crimini mushrooms are baby portobellas if you don't want to deal with such a big 'shroom.
Portobella burgers are SO yummy!!
I saw that cashmere hoodie in the Patagonia catalog and am drooling over it. Hmmmmm... new bike computer or cashmere hoodie for Christmas? Decisions, decisions.![]()
Well my theory... you NEED a bike computer. So you should buy it. The hoodie would make a great gift from your honey 'cause it's warm and snuggly.
Or one could be from your kids and one from your honey.

Brown Cow yogurt is the best! I eat that with a handfull of Kashi Go Lean Crunch for breakfast.
Handful? I love this stuff so much that I eat a troughful. Kinda negates the health benefits...Originally Posted by snapdragen

Now you've got me all wound up over the cashmere hoody!I checked it out online and it looks SO comfy and soft and pretty. My visa card is burning a hole in my pocket. But tell me, do you really have to handwash it? I hate handwashing stuff. would rather just pay the $ to dryclean. Maybe I'm lazy but it seems to take forever to wash a jacket or sweater, roll it in a towel, try to shape it to dry flat, yada, yada. So fill us in on the cleaning part...
The beauty of natural materials like wool and cashmere is that they don't retain odors when allowed to air out after wearing.
Usually I can wear a sweater 5 -6 times before the air drying doesn't work. Even my wool or cashmere bike jerseys can be worn a couple of times.
I refuse to handwash. I throw mine in the machine - sometimes on gentle sometimes not - and hang on them on a towel rack to dry. And I use regular detergent. I haven't lost a sweater to washing yet.

I'm envious of your cashmere hoody.
I'm having serious shopping withdrawals. I can't wait to not be pregnant any more so clothes can fit again!
The fine merino (a la icebreaker) is fantastic! Great for layering. Looks good. Goes in the washing machine no worries - I've got enough of the stuff to shove it all in on a wool wash, but if you fork out the cash for the decent fabric (*sigh* it was nice living in the same town as the Snowy Peak factory and their outlet sales), it does just fine in an ordinary wash too.
Drink coffee and do stupid things faster with more energy.
Maybe you could wear it unzipped until post pregnancy
