My training walk today was 10 miles, which should not have been that difficult for me. The last couple of miles almost did me in. The 3rd and 4th toes in both feet felt like they were going kind of numb, then they started to hurt like crazy. Also, the path we were on was slanted sideways, causing my gait to be off.
My left leg, IT band and surrounding muscles, is killing me right now. I had a massage therapist work on it a bit -- lots of stretching (Oh look, snap can be tied in a bow!)
I'm bothered by the toe thing, and hoping today was just a bad day and next Saturday will be better. My event is in three weeks -- I need to be healthy and pain free!

Hi there,
I am also doing the Team In Training for the Tour de Tucson 109 mile bike ride. I am a Podiatrist and although I can't examine your foot, it sounds like you may have something called a Morton's Neuroma. You can google it on the internet to get more info. Your shoes may be too narrow for you?? There are lots of things that a Podiatrist can do for you to help relieve your pain. You may benefit with a good pair of custom inserts with a metatarsal pad to seperate and off-weight your met heads!! Good luck!!!
