    I'm overwhelmed with . . .

Everyone's tales of fun and games, giggles, grins and goals, triumphs and elations and introductions. What an incredibly active weekend. Something tells me there was very little time spent in practicing our couch potato skills unless it was purely part of the recovery process.

    Way to go, everyone! Bravo!!!!

It WAS indeed a busy weekend! Thursday - boyfriend got new bike and wants to go for steep hills, ouch! Friday was holiday here in Quebec so 45 km in the morning. Saturday we had another hills ride, only three times that of Thursday and in wild heat. And Friday a metric century, more wild heat in the last 40 km of the ride.

So intense a weekend, actually, and so much sweating that my (very clean) chamois could not handle it all anymore. I had my first peek into the world of saddle sores last night when I came back home (even if I changed immediately after each ride). Ouch again!! Good cleaning, a little talc powder and going commando for a couple of hours seamingly did the job, but boy! was I afraid! I lived with the wishful thought that chamois butt'r was only for others, but I may give it a try next time I have to ride in such hot weather for so many hours in a row.

Glad to read all of your adventures, too!

Just awful, isn't it, when we look forward to work as "rest time." Can't wait to hear the report - any more tree hugging?

I'm glad you started this thread, SadieKate! It's fun reading about everyone's adventures. My mountain biking friends and I did an easy ride on Sunday morning in the desert north of us. I've seen a variety of birds, animals, reptiles out there, even a porcupine, but never a javelina. We were treated to a sighting of a mama javelina and her baby! We heard her snorting/talking to her baby before we saw her cross the trail ahead of us. Very cool!

No kidding. So why are bike events always on a Sunday? I'm just trashed today after a botched century attempt yesterday.

I want a little red cross by my name, like on bikejournal! 2nd physical therapy visit today, went well. PT said it was good I got whiney early, most people wait, then it takes close to a year to get back to normal. I'm starting to think this may take awhile, but I'll be patient. Today I learned the joy of ice massage! Actually feels really good on the inflamed tendons.

Oh - weekend content - friends and I went to the zoo, so I am getting some exercise, even tho it's not biking. And.......prepare to be jealous...dinner at Fuzio in San Francisco. Yum!

And how were the Lemon Drops there, pray tell? Comparable to the Dublin Fuzio's ?
