    Talking TV over Christmas?

Not being one to ever watch very much TV, I made an effort to record a few programmes over the Christmas period.

My partner and I looked through all the recorded items and decided to watch a TV programme called 'Grumpy Old Men'. To my dismay, it was not the usual UK programme about Grumpy Old Men, which by the way, they also have a Grumpy Old Women but instead it was some old film......aaaaaaaaaargh!

I sat there moaning but started to watch a little bit of it...............a couple of hours later we had both laughed so much. What a great couple together, Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau.

The film was superb, despite being grumpy old men, there was a special relationship there. The fun they had at playing tricks on each other, must confess, it reminded me of a couple of friends and myself! I could definitely watch this film again, such chemistry between these guys.

The other bonus for me, was to see a little bit of Minnesota, what beautiful houses and all that snow.

Anyway, what did you enjoy watching on TV, if you had the time to watch it, for those who perhaps did not have lots of family or visitors around?

We'll start watching the first two seasons of House in a little while, right now we're both rocking OUT on our ipods...best invention ever!! I gave my honey one for Christmas so she gets to listen to her music (which I find atrocious) and I get to listen to my good stuff!

I'm weird. I've been watching season 1 of Dexter over the holiday.

I look forward to my annual dose of A Christmas Story in the 24 hour marathon on TBS!

I also watched "Burn After Reading"...entertaining in that strange "Being John Malkovich" genre

Another Christmas Story fan here. I am on my fifth year of trying to convince my husband that we NEED a leg lamp to complete our Christmas decorations. He just doesn't see eye to eye with me on this one.

Clock, I am glad that you enjoyed Grumpy Old Men. There is a sequel - Grumpier Old Men - not quite as good as the first.

There are few movies that I enjoy watching more than once, but a few that I can re-watch are Get Smart (the new one), How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and Meet the Parents.

For suspense, I like Borne Supremacy, Identity, Ultimatum. And don't get me started on 24 or no one eats or has clean laundry.

Amen! FX did an Ice Age: The Meltdown marathon. Not as good as the original but... I was disappointed that my favorite version of Scrooge wasn't on this year (Alistair Sim).

I really get into the holiday decorating shows usually on HG TV. I live in an apartment and can't do (or afford) most of what they do but I love watching the transformation and trying to figure out ways to adapt some of their ideas.

Whale Rider was on TV1 here in enzed the other day & it's still one of my fave NZ films
I love that movie. Unfortunately it was on one of the premium channels that I don't subscribe to. Will have to look for the dvd.

I had seen one of these lamps in a local store and wondered who'd buy one for themselves. Now I know.
