    Weird question about Kansas City

I just went to Kansas City for a bike race. While I was there, I noticed that a lot more people seemed to have acne-type skin issues that what I've noticed down here in Memphis (and other places down South that I've traveled). I figured it was just regional differences in skincare or something of the like.

While I was there, I did my normal skincare stuff that keeps me (relatively) breakout-free. Since Sunday (last day I was there), though, I've started breaking out like crazy! I look like the "before" photos on the Proactiv skincare commercial.

Is it something in the water? Or the air? What gives??

Maybe it has something to do with the water? My skin does weird crap with my hard water opposed to areas with softer water.

Was it super chilly and dry? Ever since the temp change here my face is breaking out too. I think the dry makes your skin sloff off and and exfoliate itself?

That's the crazy part- it was actually "warm" (highs in the 40-50 deg F range), though it was pretty windy.

I do find that water makes a difference for my skin. Vancouver has super soft water, and I find that it's quite difficult to wash all the soap off. Even if you think you have, I think there's stuff left behind. I often get these tiny little bumps that clear up whenever I go to places with harder water that washes all the soap off.

Remember that Memphis has some of the cleanest water in the country...that's part of the reason why soft drinks are cheaper there My skin was never clearer than when we lived there.

    Don't take it for granted

Today, the Bloomington headline was "City Water Safe Despite Too Much Ammonia!" Huh? AMMONIA! The showers are starting to smell like AMMONIA!

Once, I was in Greenville Mississippi...and the water was brown. The placard on my hotel vanity said:
If you're wondering why the water is brown,
it's the deep well aquifers under our town.
You can bathe and drink without fear
Cause no one lives longer then the folks around here.

The water there gave the phase "cement pond" a new meaning to me!
