"How about if we all just try to follow these very simple rules of the road? Drive like the person ahead on the bike is your son/daughter. Ride like the cars are ambulances carrying your loved ones to the emergency room. This should cover everything, unless you are a complete sociopath."
David Desautels, in a letter to velonews.com
Random babblings and some stuff to look at.
I haven't heard "suitcase of courage" this tour. Has anybody else?
I've heard "depths of courage"
maybe they lost their luggage.
I haven't heard 'spot of bother' either. One of my favorites

I love these two guys.
The Tour would just seem wrong without them and all the great sayings.

I haven't watched much of the Tour this year, is it true Bobke is actually saying Tour de France properly? I prefer Ter Day France![]()
I don't see "lumpy" which is a favorite Paul description or the "man with the hammer" which my husband loves to quote. I must print some out for tomorrow night's watching.![]()

A new one I heard this year: "It's getting grippy!"

that's my sister's fav too and she just noted that sunday.
I noticed one day during cyclism sundays, and then heard paul again sunday, say a word that we've always said was "pittsburghese", though my canadian mother said it too but she grew up in a town that in the 1800s was populated by pittsburgh steel workers. anywho - the word is "slippy" which is pittsburgh for slippery. i think my sister thought i imagined paul saying it, but then she heard him say it on sunday and we all cracked up.

You too can help me fight cancer, and get a lovely cookbook for your very own! My team's cookbook is for sale Click here to order. Proceeds go to our team's fundraising for the Philly Livestrong Challenge!
The bingo cards are missing one of our other fave savings: "Call of nature."
My favorite is "oh the carnage"...when the pelaton is all broken up to a hard climb. I say that when I am climbing...
As for "call of nature"--I believe that have many other terms for that..."natural break" and somethign else.
Yep, tape teh tour to listen to Paul & Phil....can't stand the re-cap on prime time....Bobke is ok...but how is this Craig guy...he can't say anyone's name correctly!

I heard "spot of bother" this morning.
I can't resist telling hubby that I'm in a spot of bother on nearly every ride. I don't think he's as amused as I am.![]()
