I've only seen 1-2 suspicious ones and they don't usually hang around for long. And if I don't "notice" them, then it doesn't bother me that they're here because they are obviously not being obnoxious like some of the immature guys on bikeforums.

I'm curious to know how many self-declared men there are on TE, aside from Mr. Silver and Boy In A Kilt (who are great additions to the discussions).![]()
Also curious to know how many women here suspect there are a lot more guys here, undeclared, than we know? I've often wondered.

there's the guy who wants to have a girls only ride in Seattle next year.
Every now and then a guy gets on here for a few posts to ask or answer a question. They really don't seem to stick around!
We see "El Hombre" now and then in the "Northwest" forum. I think he's the guy who's planning a women only ride for sometime next year?

Yep, men, who can figure them out. They never stick around. As the famous Lili Von Schtupp said in Blazing Saddles![]()

What happened to "They jump on your belly and bust your balloons?" My favorite part of that song. I LOVED her.
Anyway, there are occasional guys on here. There's an old thread somewhere that discusses this at length.
"My predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." O. Sacks
I've had some imply that my frequent wearing of kilts and my inability to produce more offspring (thank you Dr. Snip) puts me in the "other" category. They can't deny the Y chromosome but I'm still suspect.
Fine by me. I raced bikes in high school (so I shaved my legs), and wore both eyeliner and an earring (not two, this was the early 80's mind you). At 15 years old, I figured out that men and women have different opinions about what is "manly." At 39, I don't care much anymore. I can do everything from lead soldiers in combat to comb my daughter's hair. It probably doesn't hurt that my wife finds men of that sort to be extremely attractive.
You mean the thread that had a bunch of folks so upset they left the board, some forever, some for quite a while and I think eventually got locked? That thread? Let's not revisit that I hope.
As long as they don't leave the seat up I'm pretty much ok.![]()
As soon as we start excluding a class of people here the next group up would probably be me so.....
I can personally attest for may of the Bay Area gals because we get out and ride together. Yep, they are women![]()

I think Mrs. and Mr. SGTiger live about 6 blocks from me. (sorry Kilt, but you're gonna be referred to as Mr. SGTiger... it's traditional here on TE!)
Anyway, as soon as the rain either lets up a little, or I start going seriously stir-crazy (whichever comes first) I'm gonna post a no-notice ride in the NW section.
How about a short ride so medium-Tiger can do the trail-a-bike and tiny-Tiger can do the trailer, and outta-shape Knot can keep up?

I've never known any of them to post here or rarely but have met all three and they are great guys.
But then this is California so we're a little odd and let the men-folk keep their own names as opposed to just being nameless faceless DH, DBF etc.

I'm sure there are the occasional lurking males...in fact, I know there is at least one.![]()
Mr. GLC is a member here and he occasionally lurks (or does a search) when he's looking for something specific. I'm pretty sure he doesn't hang out here on a regular basis, though. I will say that he probably takes exception to being referred to as "Mr. GLC" since I'm pretty sure he found TE before I did!![]()

LeeBob occasionally lurks on the California forum, to find out what rides we'll be doing, because sometimes I forget to tell him. oops.![]()
But he says he's not at all interested in the general forum. Not disparagingly so, it's just not his cup of tea.
And he really likes all the TE gals he's met, and their friends and SO's.
I know I've said this before, but one time we were driving home from a TE group get-together, and he mentioned something along the lines of "you're so lucky, you've met so many great people from that internet forum, and there doesn't seem to be an axe murderer in the bunch !"![]()

Roadfix is a declared guy, but he gave me wonderful advice when I posted a query on a fixie conversion for my son. He tends to hang out mostly in the maintenance forum. We had a lengthy discussion on this topic in the past, and I think the consensus was that the group was comfortable with guys posting as long as they conformed to the 'culture' here, which is more supportive and respectful than many mixed sex forums.
