What happened to "They jump on your belly and bust your balloons?" My favorite part of that song. I LOVED her.
Anyway, there are occasional guys on here. There's an old thread somewhere that discusses this at length.

"My predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." O. Sacks
You mean the thread that had a bunch of folks so upset they left the board, some forever, some for quite a while and I think eventually got locked? That thread? Let's not revisit that I hope.
As long as they don't leave the seat up I'm pretty much ok.![]()
As soon as we start excluding a class of people here the next group up would probably be me so.....
I can personally attest for may of the Bay Area gals because we get out and ride together. Yep, they are women![]()

In a break with tradition Mr JoBob has his own name, LeeBob, also Mr. SK is named Bubah, V's Thom's is just Thom which is his nameThere goes the anonymity of the internet

I've never known any of them to post here or rarely but have met all three and they are great guys.
But then this is California so we're a little odd and let the men-folk keep their own names as opposed to just being nameless faceless DH, DBF etc.

Yep - they and their spousesare some of my favorite riding buddies. I just could never think of Thom as my DH. Anonymity on the web is an illusion. Heck I use my real name. Our website has our real names on it.
Thom has posted a few times when I've been doing a big ride to keep folks who care informed. He always does it under my name, but signs it Thom.

I think Mrs. and Mr. SGTiger live about 6 blocks from me. (sorry Kilt, but you're gonna be referred to as Mr. SGTiger... it's traditional here on TE!)
Anyway, as soon as the rain either lets up a little, or I start going seriously stir-crazy (whichever comes first) I'm gonna post a no-notice ride in the NW section.
How about a short ride so medium-Tiger can do the trail-a-bike and tiny-Tiger can do the trailer, and outta-shape Knot can keep up?

None taken. For one thing, I'm married into a Korean family Koreans refer to people by their relationship to others. I'm generally "your husband" when Soo's parents are talking to her. At first, I thought it was just because my first name (Sean) can't be written in Han Gul and it's a hard name for Koreans to pronounce.
Secondly, if a man has to be known for something, why not be known for being married to his wife?
I've been aware of TE for quite some time. When Soo became a regular, I thought it was cool, but I always thought of it as "her" place. Had she not "invited" me in, I wouldn't have joined. The discussion actually came up because there are a few women that post on a kilt forum I belong to.
But back to the original post. If you see a guy in the bothell area wearing a kilt or riding a red Co-Motion, it's probably me.
I'd be into a medium-length ride. We've done the chicken park to woodinville. If I can get my hands on my friend's Xtracycle, we could go a little longer.

don't worry, it's all cool.

Hmmm...as the primary 'target' of the awful thread, I didn't think it was so awful. It was an important discussion that was remarkably civil in its debate.
Personally, I respect the special place you've created. As a result:
- on the rare occassion that I communicate by PM, I copy Silver...don't want anyone to miscontrue my intent
- I stay out of topics that I don't belong in...don't even open them...
- I make sure everyone knows by my tag lines that I'm married to the lovely Silver
- I don't lurk...I'm right up front with who I am...
For me, I continue to feel honored as a token estrogen laden male.
If you don't grow where you're planted, you'll never BLOOM - Will Rogers
Mr. Silver, I *still* wanna see you in a Utili-kilt! You got those biker legs thru good old fashioned hard work! Show 'em off! Be proud of them!

No, you wouldn't think that.Actually it was pretty G** awful and some have never been back. I'll just speak for myself there was grieving for the character of this place. We'd come to see as a womens community/space or for some to think that alone is what makes this board so great.
We've tried to figure out "why is this board unlike other boards" and thought it comes down to that. I think it's part of it, but not all.
Some of us who'd been here a while feared for its demise or be just like any other board.![]()
Look, still here, still the best dang place in cyberspace![]()
But perhaps we were being naive. I miss being naive. I miss leaving doors unlocked and answering the phone without caller id too.
It's the world wide web not the womens wide web. You can't put a sign that says "women only" and expect most men not to peek inI don't think I want this board to be like "some other womens boards" ahem
where there's an approval process, that smacks of cliques, discrimination and eliteism.
I don't think we gave TE enough credit. Maybe it's more than "just" a womens board but a community where the primary rule is "civil conversation and discussion" and not "women and Mr. Silver only".![]()

When we were vacationing on Orcas Island, we saw a man with a nice black kilt. It was really kinda cool.
