    Angry Crash Test Dummy?

I downloaded some pictures from my race crash. They aren't too flattering. I'm also posting one of my "normal" face. The black eye is going away, and doesn't show up in the picture that well, but you get the idea... The shoulder, elbow, hip and knee bruises and road rash are healing well... Don't you love when your bruises start turning that green/yellow color? I love mountain biking. I have another race in 2 weeks!

Bruiser me... Result of the fall at Sea Otter Classic.

the worst thing about those face ones is that everyone WON'T look at you, they assume you are being beaten by the bf de jour, it's so weird.

Okay- this may seem like a stupid question...
    But I was thinking...
If I wipe out, as I undoubtably will- should I be wearing some teeth protection? Like a mouthguard so I don't bash my teeth out???

Do any of you folks wear them??

    Does anybody?

downhillers will wear a full face helmet, I think I have heard of mouthguards too.

us Xc riders aren't supposed to crash like that...

No... we aren't.... but sometimes things happen!! I've considered teeth protection, but I think it would be very difficult to breath while wearing one. I have seen pictures of me climbing, and my mouth is wide open, gasping for oxygen!!

Wow, that looks awfully painful Get better soon! If you're going fast enough to crash like that and you really are concerned about your jaw/teeth, as Irulan mentioned, a full face helmet might be worth looking into. Although, its not common for XCers, I have seen pictures of some who do use them.

Other than your crash, what did you think of Sea Otter? It sounds like a total blast That's so cool that you got to race there!
