    I'm back!

You're so sweet to think of me! We thought my neck was broken, so I've been in one feirce snit. And kind of swack on Pain Pills. It took a month of running in circles to finally get pictures and find out- hooray- it's 2 funky discs and a vertebral spur irritating nerves. So I'm banished to PT and the pool and, eeek! spin class. It's just time to ride outside. Maybe by end of June before the blast furnace starts.

Anyway- I cheered all up when I found out that I get to hang around in the pool instead of having neck surgury. I'm really frustrated about having my bike pulled back out from under me, but half of this is a spectacular headplant from a few years back catching up so it's a riding injury; I can keep my Bicycle Nation citizenship. And- hallelujah- I found a bathing suit with bike short legs. How civilized.

Wow-well, I'm relieved to hear you won't need surgery! Sheesh, just when you started to get going again, too What a drag but at least you won't be off the bike as long as before Heal up quickly!

Thank you for thinking of me- It's been a terrible drag!
I'm consoling myself with the thought that swimming pools are fun, and I'm not a good swimmer so maybe focusing on a new sport will clear out the cobwebs as it makes me better. My gym has a huge outdoor pool, and put in a lot more water classes and made them freebies - so there's stuff to do. I'm looking forward to it. Maybe I'll get some base tan to keep me shady if I get back on my beast later this summer But I'm going nuts over the idea of more PT; I have a new therapist just to try and get variety
They're going to put me in traction. Sounds bizarre, huh?

Although, I was in the LBS looking wistfully at a Guru time trial bike and thinking about the wind roaring in my ears....

    Talking "swimming pools are fun"

As long as the guys in the Speedos are super fit tri-guys...yeah!!!

On a more serious note: if you want to improve your swimming I highly recommend "Total Immersion" and/or joining a "Master's" program.

Here's to a speedy recovery (hmmm no "smiley" for a toast).

Snicker- These are the guys that do best in baggy shorts, which is disapointing. But, and this is an interesting possibility, I'm starting in a water aerobics class with the old arthritic ladies who are always trying to fix you up with guys, and I could use the help. The aquatics director and I had a good laugh about it.

I'm starting with the dog paddle - gotta have working neck and shoulders first. Then I'll look at a more intensive program. I like bootcamps, I just need a functioning body to do it.
Thanks for caring, girls, it means a lot to me.
