Sunday morning, 7 miles in drizzle/light rain and a very strong, chilly wind. Heading west was pretty brutal, the wind was an insult. Conversely, coming back I had the wind at my back. Felt amazingly good in the legs, decent energy.

I don't mind running in the rain, so long as I'm dressed appropriately and wear a brimmed hat. Might have to repeat it again Monday morning, but it will be at least 10 degrees colder.

    Solo, wow, that's stunning!

Didn't feel like running this morning. It was cold (mid 30's) and breezy and I ate a lot of crap yesterday (I get a craving for sweets when my period shows up). But I ran anyway. It was one of those days where I just felt awkward. Still, I did 3 miles and so the week's off to a decent start.

Tonight's cross training: yardwork. It's time to clear out another bed in the garden, so I can plant some more veg. in a couple days. I'm always amazed just how good an upper-body workout that can be...

    Woot! I actually RAN tonight!

I signed up for a coached 8k program with my running club but since I have been doing zero running since March, I was unsure I'd be able to do this at all. Tonight, we met at a local college's track, ran a few laps to warm up, ran 2 timed laps at speed to set our pace group, and another lap or two to cool down.

So I ended up with just shy of 2.4 miles. And no pain! Yeah, I wore compression sleeves and right now I'm icing my leg and popped naproxen just in case...but the fact that I got a run in without agony is a milestone.

I have custom orthotics on order. Hopefully they will come in soon and I can get back to my training. Now, my biggest fear is in my zeal, doing too much, too soon. Somebody stop me now.

Short but steep trail run today..about 4.5 miles with over 1000 feet of elevation gain. I am not the fastest but it felt great!!
