    *funny lph!*

I'm pretty sure it's physiologically normal.

As for how many of us deal with it (i.e. snot rockets), what passes for normal in this crowd may not be exactly normal behavior in a large sample that includes our sedentary friends and neighbors.

If my nose just going at a slow leak, the 'science' is hard to apply and I usually wipe it on any soft cloth surface (sleeve, glove, shirt, etc) and let the laundry take care of it after the ride.

Many (most?) cycling gloves sport an absorbent panel on the back....

I swear, I have to physically stop myself at the brink of blowing snot rockets in the most inappropriate places, like surrounded by people and just outside the courthouse, or a movie theatre...

I'm picturing myself blowing a snot rocket outside the courthouse ... or inside ... that is a LITERAL laugh out loud.

I experienced something similar years ago coming home after long periods of whitewater rafting. Back in civilization, you can't simply 'eddy out' near a patch of friendly-looking bushes; you really must locate a restroom.

I've never mastered the snot rocket...it's like I can't get up enough force for it to "rocket." In my case I end up with snot spurt, which ends up ON ME. Gross. As a result I always run or bike with a cotton hanky that goes in the wash with my clothes post-workout. The primary reason for my bento box on my bike is a place to stuff my hanky. I'd use my back pocket on a jersey, but I'm using the hanky so much that it's just easier to grab it from in front of me.

The only time that snot is not an issue is in the Summer, but then I use the hanky to mop my profuse sweat.

The one thing I never forgot on my rides last fall were about a dozen kleenex! I really need to learn this snot rocket or use something better like a hanky.

I do it all on the bike. I blow snot rockets and have a bento box for when riders might be behind me and use the terry part of my glove to wipe the excess.

If it is any consolation my nose runs on the trainer and in the warm weather, just not as often and it also runs when I eat. I never can be without a tissue. <weird> but I have been like that as long as I could remember.

When I scuba dived it was suggested to take a sudefed before. My dh suggested I try that before an outdoor ride, but I have yet to remember to see if it would work.
