my only complaint about accelerade is that it gets kind of blechy chalky when it gets warm which is after an hour here in Texas if I Start out with it frozen solid, and lesss than an hour with ice cubes.

This year I have been drinking FRS instead- while it doesn't have the whey protein it has everything else. I like the fact that it comes in handy little tubes as well as larger powder kegs so I use the big thing to mix the bottle the night before and then take a couple of tubes with me for replacement. It comes in orange, lemon lime and berry- the orange is the strongest flavor but not objectionably so. The berry and lemon lime are very nice.

It doesn't have protein though? After experimenting in the hot weather I've found that to be quite helpful. Perpetuam seems to work pretty well for me as well - though as I think about it - Perpetuam is what I used on the hottest of days. Currently am using single-serving packages as "samples" to see what my body thinks of it all before getting a large container.

Saturday I used Heed (everything but the protein) for my 3 hour ride and could tell a decided difference over the previous long ride on which I had used the Perpetuam. Heed works great for shorter rides.

Out of curiosity, did you try it with one of the Polar insulated bottles?
