LOL. You are a good daughter. My mom loves to make me happy (I have worked hard all my life, since I was 17, I usually have two jobs at once, so I don't consider myself TOO spoiled)...I totally appreciate her!!!!!! She paddles around her house in Montana, missing my dad, rearranging the furniture and spoiling her dogs. I can't convince her how I am buying a PART of a bike, so she is happy thinking she is buying me a "new bike."
She mused about buying herself a bike after I told her about the cruisers with big, cushy seats that she did not have to be at all in shape to ride. But she then decided it might put her in proximity of a bear or wolves, and ditched it.

    Oh that is so sweet!
Glad to hear your Colnago will be ready to ride again soon.

OK Thanks a lot! I was already worried about bears and mountain lions for our trip to Montana, and now I have to worry about wolves! Hadn't thought of that one!

Awwww... what a sweet mom!!! Happy late b-day. Too cute that she thinks she's buying you a new bike. She'd probably have a heart attack if she knew that it's just one tiny part of the bike that costs that much.

WHen are you going to be there? I am going in two weeks. We are going to visit my mom, visit yellowstone, the louis and clark stuff. Hiking, but not taking the bikes.
My mom says that the wolves are way more of a threat than bears.

Wow-cool! We will be there about the same time-Glacier National Park. We plan on doing some biking, and have received some good advice from some TE members. Will probably scope out areas in the car that I feel safe on, hopefully some of going to the sun road. I don't think there will be any extended mileage done, my 3 teenagers are not into biking much. I'm not sure if we will even take their bikes, they're not in good repair and might be too much stuff to transport.
So it will be DH and I, maybe fitting in a 20 miler now and then. We've been seeking out hills and riding in wind to hopefully be ready for it. I'm so excited about the trip I can't sleep at night!

How awesome! We are flying and just not comfortable taking the bikes. I wish though, I have always wanted to bike from Ennis, where my mom lives, to Virginia City....and then have someone pick my tired butt up.

Ooh, how lovely! My birthday's on Monday and my mom already suggested giving me a check toward a new carbon bike. I love getting bike parts on every holiday.
