Nope, sorry. Still pretty tomato-ey. Similar to V8 infact, but IMO tastes less processed and has a bit more kick to it.

Can you substitute veggie soup for the vegetable juice cocktail? It seems like it would have the same benefits as long as it's not something like cream of potato soup or corn chowder. Just make a big batch and freeze into individual servings for the convenience factor. How about freezer friendly smooth gazpacho? Then toss in fresh chopped veggies when you eat if you like texture.

No thank you. Can't go there.

Those V8 blend things that are mixed with fruit are very drinkable. The fruit flavor overpowers any of the tomato-ey-ness (I'm declaring that a word), and it's not too thick. Plus you get a serving of fruit and a serving of vegetables with each glass. I don't drink it a lot, usually my parents have it at their house, but I'd always avoided regular V8 so I was pleasantly surprised.

I like V8 and tomato juice, especially with pretzels on an airplane.

One thing that I really have a hard time with is oatmeal. But it's good for me and it does warm me up (still no heat in this renovation-in-progress), and my cholestrol is on the high side...so I eat it. With enough brown sugar, I can get it down.

    okay, back to V8...

You suppose that could be because high fructose corn syrup is the 2nd ingredient and there is no tomato in V8 Splash?

Budweiser has a new beer with Clamato. No wonder they had to sell out. I like tomato juice but this stuff was disgusting. Tomato juice and beer. Who on earth thought of that?

I'm going to make sure the Household Grocery Shopper has both the Knudsens and the Kagome on his list. The Kagome looks like some good non-tomato-ey options. Freddie's is listed as a Kagome dealer.

Yeah, I can only do the low-sodium V8 - and only in very small quantities. I can't even finish a small can in one sitting!

    Tomatoes - good
    Salsa - good
    V8 - ick

I'm tempted to try blending my own from fresh veggies, though - how hard can it be?

V-8 is much better poured over ice into a glass. Drinking anything from a can doesn't do it for me.
