Yes, legs can ride up depending on your leg shape or just hit at an unflattering length.

Grippers on the bottom are also intended to hold up leg or knee warmers. Additionally, short inseams don't combine well with these.

I find that short inseam = more chaffing. But maybe that's just me.

I bought the Adiamos. I had to throw them out. They were huge! The chamois was huge, too and that was the the size small. No extra smalls.
My best liners are the Sugoi ones I bought on TE. However, I wore them all day at class last week and the grippers really chafed my legs. But they fit perfectly. I think they just need to be washed a little more.

Have you tried a cycling short? Sierra Trading Post has a great price now on the Shebeest SSS short which is a very high quality short at a good price. I think real bike shorts work better than liner shorts. If its cold you can also layer them up with leg warmers, or unpadded tights.

Also, no matter how much padding you have between yourself and the seams of blue jeans, they're going to cut into you. If you still prefer a liner, best to wear pants with a gusseted crotch.

What's nice about the Sugoi liners is that they use a real chamois not junk. I think one of the Sugoi liners has their top line chamois. Andiamo may have improved but the ones I had many eons ago were junk.

Even so, I can't imagine wearing a liner short all day long if I'm not actually cycling. Not only are the grippers uncomfortable all day, but that part of your body needs ventilation. It just isn't healthy.

In the old days, yes. Today's chamois are an incredible creation of synthetic fabric and padding that wicks, shouldn't chafe, is ergonomically better designed, etc., etc., etc.
