My younger son was always coming home with stuff he found on the ground. We christened him good at finding things. It helped him break the chain of "can't find anything" he would have inherited from his father.

Most of the time that DH is storming through the house looking for small object X, I ignore him. Sometimes I just go and get it.

Of course I lose things too; but he definitely has it more seriously than I do.
Being the age that he is, he often just buys replacements and then finds the original later. This does not help much for car keys and wallets.

Neither BF nor I can find the butter dish. Who loses a butter dish? I think he did it.

Shortly after I bought my last house, we (ex DH and I) decided to have a housewarming party. It was a warm February day, perfect for a party on the porch and in the house, including all these people from my new job. Halfway through, there were like 10 or more people in the living room, all having a grand time.

I froze. There...on the lower level of the coffee table...in plain view...was A BRA! MY BRA! OMG!

I had done yoga the night before and had taken it off halfway through, and had not noticed it until the middle of the party.

What could I do? I just left it there and let them wonder...

    it's a mystery

Well, in my house it's the XX that causes the problem with lost stuff. I specialize in "poofing" things. You know, it was in your hand 30 seconds ago, and now it's vanished? But it works both ways, I also excel in finding lost stuff. My haul so far is two twenties, one fifty, a whole bunch of fives and ones, more pipes than any nonsmoker needs, a lotta junk jewelry which I kept, and one very expensive ring with lotta diamonds that I turned in. I can also find lost objects for people better than most.
