20 plus years ago, I used to work in the Candy department in JCPenney. Another form of the candy corn is the different seasonal mellocremes. http://www.dutchvalleyfoods.com/food...c-5734fbcc45ca I prefer the ones with the faux choco too (mostly the indian corn and thanksgiving mellocremes)

When I sold candy, we used to sell nuts too. I had people come all the time wanting peanuts and jelly beans and/or peanuts and candy corn/mellocremes I thought EWWW, till I tried it! OMG the perfect combination of salty and sweet with some crunch. Of course I can't have the nuts at all now with the diverticulosis and should avoid the candy with my diabetes, but periodically just have to.
One of my all time favorites this time of year are the old fashioned Mary Janes, or peanut butter kisses. MMMMM, chewy and peanut buttery... http://www.necco.com/OurBrands/Default.asp?BrandID=1

Those Peeps things dont even resemble what I know as Marshmallow....they are awful!!!

    Candy Corn also yuk!!

Now if only people would hand out dark chocolate at Halloween this mum would be happy. As it is I dont get to raid the kids buckets because all of the stuff including those Kisses things are just YUK!!

I just made a trip to Powell's Sweet Shop (neener neener maillotpois!)

    Let's see.....

    Pink Canada Mints
    Choco Kitty Peeps
Necco Wafers - Regular and Chocolate
    Nestle Smarties (similar to M&Ms)
    A Grow your own skeleton

and because I saw them on Unwrapped a couple nights ago, Valomilk cups. Think Reeses Peanut Butter Cup, only instead of peanut butter, it is filled with runny marshmallow.

I ate the valomilk, but the majority of the other stuff is getting sent off to a friend....providing it survives the night.

no no no Trekhawk, peeps AREN'T marshmallows. They are something ELSE.
They even have protein in them! yes! it's true. That's why they are not water soluable..

you guys made me hungry too. I made some Castanaccio out of chestnut flour (That I bought in Italy) wheat flower, eggs, a little olive oil and milk.. then I stuck raisins and chopped nuts and a little sugar on the top. it's sort of like a cake and it's not really sweet... it's pretty good though...

    okay, back to sugar...

REESE'S RULE-- I love peanut butter in almost any form - except Jelly Bellies-

and to JuJu- until a week ago I only liked the original Hershey Kisses- I wish they would stop meddlin'- but then- a friend ( a true friend brings chocolate)
brought me a bag of Truffle kisses- some of Milton Hershey's finest work-
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

It's a teeny skeleton that you put in water, and it grows.
