RAAM's starting up pretty soon. I found the coverage of this from the RAAM website helped fill the gap between the Giro and the Tour.

I'm the crew chief for a two man relay team! Our racers, George Vargas and Rick Schulze will be supported by a crew of twelve. Three of us solely on rider support and the rest will be our driver, navigator pool. We're getting down to the wire, there's so much to do this week!
Be sure to check out our website and blog. I am George's primary support person so I mirror all of his movements, in the follow vehicle when he's riding and in the RV taking care of him when he's off the bike...sleeping when he's sleeping, etc. I should have time to blog while he's riding, so check in everyday for new pictures from the road!

I got addicted to watching cycling a few days into the TDF last year, soon after I started biking. They are all so cute! I even started to get fond of Bob Roll (can't believe I just said that)! Watching the Giro d'Italia was a blast. Yes - Leaky Gas, how funny! Watching them is such an inspiration to me, I can just see how they use the muscles I need to try to get. I hope Oscar Perreiro reappears for the TDF.....
No - Oscar Pereiro. Look how cute!

I have your blog in my favorites Brandy. I plan on checking it out everyday like I do here with the TE forum.
To answer the question at hand, yes I also watch the pro tour races on Versus. Once you record one race they all record so I have not missed one race.
I agree with the above, it is an addiction

Thank you ladies! I am up to my ears stressed and overwhelmed right now. I'm trying to tie up loose ends for RAAM and it seems like more and more things keep popping up at the last minute! Good stuff though...we have had four new sponsors sign on this week! I also have three kids that I'm leaving here while I'm crewing and I'm trying to get them settled...including a birthday party on Sunday!
Once I'm down in San Diego for good (on Monday) I'll kick into race mode and that will be my only concern for the following 8 days!
I'll post the link again in another thread in a few days in case anyone missed it in here. It means a lot to me to know that people here at TE will be following "my boys" and our journey as a team.![]()
I missed this thread the first time around. But I was just looking at the team rosters on the RAAM website while I was talking with my coach on the phone. He mentioned the two riders that you are running support for! I can't remember how he said he knew them, I'll have to ask again.
He's a san diego rat, and he's been coaching for years so he knows LOTS of people... But I'll have to ask him again.
Anyway his name is Alan Woodruff.
small small world it is!!
And I'll have your blog up daily, so try to keep us in the loop. I know that at some point sleep deprivation will set in, but think of us poor girls at home...![]()
Yes, small world. His wife posts over at Bike Forums!
Thanks for keeping up with us, we're looking forward to keeping everyone updated. I was down in Oceanside picking up our light bar for the follow van and I got the chills when I saw the RAAM banner at the headquarters and then started seeing all of the racers. It's really happening now!
