Knot, I'm hoping the color of your hair isn't slimy green, just the goop.

Finally got Kit moving so we are out of here for a late dinner and to see if we can still catch up with Mimi and Raleighdon at the Lodge after his Seattle to Portland ride.

We shall be partaking of some alcohol this evening as well, just not in our jammies. (don't worry, no drinking and driving will occur)

    Have fun ladies!!

DH is about to start dying my hair for me, then we need to pack up his gear and such for the race tomorrow.

He got his haircut today, and it's pretty much as short as possible without being completely shaved. He looks sexy!

I was really really happy we got up at 7:00 this morning because, just after we'd eaten our waffles, the phone rang and I was invited on a ride with a couple of women - one who has chronic arthritis in her knees and is new to biking, and one who has several disc problems and is new to biking. I really really enjoyed our ride, and I felt well enough after to do a few things and shop even, before I layed down on the couch with my cold magic bean bag. Oh, and DH insisted I renew my wardrobe at my friend's consignment store. I bought 3 skirts, 2 pairs of pants, 4 shirts, and a pair of pointy burgundy snakeskinish high heeled ankle boots...for $120 CDN. Most of it is work or home wear, and most of it works very well with clothes I already have. It's like a whole new wardrobe for the price of a fancy jersey! Sad, but I have to buy those types of clothes too.

I still need to cook hash browns so we don't have to be up at 5:00 to make breakfast, so I'd better go....but I"ll check in on the pj action a little later.

At the moment (and for the next 1 1/2 hrs) my hair is QUITE slimy, green, and goopy!

But the wine is good, and my spaghetti was yummy, and SKnot is at a Euchre party (what is Euchre?), and I have my TE for frolicking good fun.

So, for around $850 I'd have a commutermobile that would haul SKnot (on the flats) AND his bassoon AND a bag of dog food.

At about $50 per tank, and at about one tank a week, that's about 4 1/2 months of driving to pay off the Xtracycle.

    Hmmmmmm...
Factor in a few oil changes (or "pay" yourself the federal mileage rate - which lots of people would argue doesn't cover the cost of driving), and you'll be there a whole lot more quickly!

Sorry, haven't figured out how to quote properly but wanted to say... don't forget to add in insurance costs and wear and tear (things like tyre changes). Xtracycles are awesome.

    Hey, pretty good score, girl!

P.S. WWAAAAHHHH....I missed the pajama party!!!

Knotted- green and goopy? Are we talking henna here? If so, I always thought it smelled nice, like hay, not like rotting spinach! ...Going red?

G'morning party go'ers! How's the head? I stuck to cola, Kit had a couple of drinks with dinner and was very happy when we left the lodge. Everyone got home safely and no hangovers. I'm about to make b-fast then we are heading over to Forest Park for a hike and a picnic. It's beautiful outside today. I'm not sure if we will take the mtb's or not. Kit says it's a lot of climbing with bikes.

Knot - looks like there will be a double Henna party here tonight. I'm a Henna virgin so Kit is in charge. She promises I won't look too alien. I trust her. (ssshhh... she's right over my shoulder reading this... )

LBTC - I'm so glad you had a good ride with those ladies. You told them about TE, didn't you?

Have a great day and be safe.

No party for me - unless you count big fun with Advil and an ice pack. I did catch an interesting film on PBS last night - "Screaming Queens - The Riot at Compton's Cafeteria". San Francisco in 1966, when a group of transgender and gay folks fought back against police harrasment.

My arm is very sore today, I don't feel like doing much of anything. I'm not sure the bruises aren't going to turn a lovely shade of purple.

There will be a commemoration reception and a short program to honor Officer Elliot Blackstone followed by the unveiling of the historical plague at the corner of Turk and Taylor.

Officer Blackstone, a pioneer in community policing acted as facilitator between the police and Gay community.

I remember (Trek shakes cane at youngsters) back in the day every Gay bar had a peephole at the door, couldn't just walk in, a bouncer checked you out because you never know.

The person could be a cop wanting to shake down the bar for payoff or worse, or harassment in general from the public.

In these days with Ellen and Rosie on TV and even *gasp* LGBT bike clubs let's not forget how far we've come because of men like Officer Blackstone.

Be careful with that henna. I found out years ago the hard way that though natural henna adds wonderful warm reddish highlights on top of brown hair, it can produce a brilliant shade of orange when applied to blond hair.

Mahogany henna is my friend. On top of my steel-gray and white hair it brings me back to the deep mahogany reddish brown I had in my 20's, with bits of strawberry blond.
