The early quake detection system (dog) is now flopped down, relaxed on the floor so must not be any aftershocks coming.

Isn't it amazing how dogs can sense quakes way before we can?

After the Loma Prieta quake, there were aftershocks for serveral days, and the dogs in our neighborhood would start barking & howling well before we could feel them.

Even now, when I hear a lot of dogs suddenly start barking all at once, I reflexively tense up & wonder if we're about to have a quake.
