The more I see of this whole mess, the more I feel sorry for the baby. How could she ever have a normal life?

It's a sad thing to say, but she may have more of a chance at a normal life now, once the media circus goes away, than she would have had if her mother had lived.

Sadly, it's hard to believe the baby will even be normal, considering all the alcohol, pills, drugs, and crash diets her mother has been on for years. Seems to me her mother was so completely out of control with substance abuse that it's pretty unlikely she was "clean" all through her pregnancy. All these things certainly effect a developing baby in utero.
