I was shocked when I heard the news driving home from work tonight. I had a a bit of an interest in her and watched her reality show when it was on -- in the wide-opened-eyes way you'd watch a train wreck. I think it was her huge weight fluctuations and really off-the-wall behavior (gotta be drug induced) that had me wondering about her and what was really going on in her mind. Her poor baby daughter without even a confirmed father.

I will be interested to know what the cause of death was. I'm thinking either a drug overdose (maybe taken to blot the pain of her son's death) or heart problems caused by the rapid/extreme weight loss.

I'm a little shocked that anyone here would say "who cares". Her life is over; she has family and friends who care very much. No matter what else she was, she was a human being and at least deserves a modicum of respect in her death - as I hope we all do.

Unfortunately for her daughter, it will still be a circus.

There are still two men claiming to be the father. They both want custody, because there's umpteen millions of dollars at stake for whoever gains control.

Neither one of the reputed fathers probably cares an iota about the daughter.

It looks like another tragedy in the making.

My first reaction was "well...finally!" who could continue the poisoning a human body like that without consiquences? I am amazed she made it this far...and how is that baby? any side-effects there?

I do feel for those who cared for her...death is death and pain is associated with death...I just hope they all find peace in this somehow! 'cause she left a huge web of legal issues behind!!!

NOW...to prove the chain of gossip that will be started I have to share what my colleague said when I came into work...all of which on speculation but said with a factual tone of voice:

1 - she died of a heartattack (the otopsy has not been done yet!!! how did this person get such info when NO ONE ELSE KNOWS!!!)

2 - Trimspa drugs are the cause. WHAT??? again...how is person privvy to this truth when no one else is???

3 - Anna and her son, Daniel, were romantically involved and the baby, Daniellyn, is a product of their relationship....UH???

Now that is just 3 speculation by someone who spends little time outside and lives most of his life through TV...

    UUUUGH!!!!

OK...i have gotten that out...now I can move on with my little life of no fame and go ride my bike!!!

Peace to her family and hopes of not having to watch any-and-all-Anna on the news for months to come...

It is pretty sad that she died. Death is a hard issue to confront, especially if it's sudden, such as the case. But, what I thought immediately afterward was, no matter the fame and fortune and riches, they won't take care of the problems that one has. I had a hard life growing up and wished for all of those things but now that I'm older (and mayber a little wiser ), there's more to life than that and if we did have those things, would they help us with our issues? Most likely not.

I am very saddened by her death. I believe she is in Heaven now, with her son.

I think it is very tragic. I used to watch her show after working a crummy job, it was frivalous but it was a fun 30 minutes of mindless tv. Her antics (whether staged, drug induced or just her) made me giggle. She was a terribly troubled person and all the money in the world couldn't help her in the end.

Whether she was a tabloid circus act or not, she died leaving a family. It is sad and since she was famous it is considered news these days. Yes celebrity news gets way too much press in mainstream media, but she was still a human being and at the end of the day that is what makes this so sad.

Now to add to media circus- Gsa Gsa Gabor's husband is saying he might have fathered the baby. Goodness- who is going to claim the baby next?

Excuse me? did I read this right?

    http://www.cnn.com/2007/LAW/02/09/pr....ap/index.html

Von Anholt (Gabor's husband) was sleeping with Anna Nicole Smith, and considered *adopting* her? But Zsa Zsa wouldn't sign the adoption papers?

    What!!?!?!?!?

Fergawdsakes, gimme Daniellyn, split her millions 3 ways and give it to these 3 weird men, and let me raise the poor baby girl in my semi-normal world!

Very sad, first thing I thought was combination of whatever drugs she may have been on for the depression of losing her son AND possibly post partum depression with her new daughter, possibly combined with the unhealthy trim spa yo-yo dieting etc.
It's a sad thing that her new baby daughter is going to be in a tug of war with any number of men now that are trying to come forth to claim the potential fortune Anna was still fighting to get from her late elderly husband. I hope they can find someone to take care of the baby girl and she not be caught in the middle of the media circus.
Don't think of it as getting hot flashes. Think of it as your inner child playing with matches
