Spent most of the night awake, thinking about the offer...I still don't know if I'm going to take it (I sent them an email last night with some additional questions). If I do take it I think the SF trip will be within the first couple of weeks of the job (so in Feb.). The place is in the Presidio (sp?), I think that's in SF??

Queen - that is so cool - now you just have to decide

Was going to go out to dinner last night, but it was snowing and blowing really hard when hubby got home from work so I just made a green chile chicken with rice, beans and corn. It was okay.

I'm working on my serve in tennis right now - My stupid wrist is getting sore - hope that doesn't continue

Gotta start riding my trainer at least - since I've got my Mtn bike camp in Phoenix to lead in a couple of weekends I'm gonna just suck

Queen - congrats on the opportunity to choose! If the new job seems a bit "slow", you'll have more time to read TE?

cc - thanks for the link. I'd only heard a tiny bit about this. Somebody's career in marketing either just hit the toilet or is about to take off. (depending on how much trouble they get into. They certainly got some attention for the TV show!)

Queen - I'd take the library job. I have two friends who catalog images for the library systems. It can be very monotonous but it's also very low stress, and you can sometimes work from home.

I've brought my iPod to work a few times. I'm going to have to start doing that again now that they took away our Web-based e-mail access. Some days for me a really, really, really busy and others are just so slow because my job is completely dependent on other people.

I can't wear an iPod nor surf the web at work. Can't hardly ever even sit down! Gave myself a kidney stone last year because there isn't time to pee during the work shift. And I have to be cheerful ALL THE TIME!!!

Sheer torture, I tell ya! (being cheerful is harder than passing a kidney stone.... )

Roger that! Thank goodness I only have to be cheerful for intermittent 1:15-hour classes. And not even really cheerful--just civil. Even that's a challenge sometimes.

The Presidio sure'nuff is in SF. It's the old Spanish military base (also more recently US Army base, now de-militarized). Very parklike, right near the Golden Gate. Lovely place!
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.

I hear that Knott. I swear I have a bladder like a camel. It's not that I can't take a pee break, it's that I forget to when I'm busy. And well, I'm naturally sickeningly cheerful. If I'm grumpy, torturing people makes me cheerful so I get better when I'm at work.

What makes me mad, are people that are late for their torture.
