normally i would think that is mean, but its sunny and low winds here today.

it just isn't good because i still can't go out and enjoy it. roads are clear enough and dry enough that i could take my bike out or run, but no.... i had to have foot surgery.

    Yay, Queen!

Can I have your job, too? Only managing research publications and in a science library?

(edit: the majority of library tech jobs around here are filled by Masters Librarians who don't want to leave Seattle. If I get my Masters, I'm headin' south. BTW, you know Trek is down there in SF, right? Maybe you two can connect while you're down for training.)

Well, I found a few minutes to come hang out tonight while at work. Woooh! It's a bit crisp outside this evening. I feel a change in the barometer too so I guess we should be seeing some interesting weather here within a few days.

Way to go Queen!! So happy for you.

((((((CWR)))))) You will be up and about soon sis. Just hang in there. It's all worth it. You were hurting so bad before the surgery that you know you wouldn't have been out there running anyway. Or at least, you shouldn't have been.

Kit - I love deer bologna, steaks, roasts... but I'm not the kind who could ever kill one. I used to go hunting when I was a teen. I'd sit out there on a boulder or up a tree (my bro never figured out how I could get way up there ) and just hang out. I'd watch the squirrels and chipmunks, take in the scenery, the smells and the textures. The deer would walk (run) on by and I'd just sit in total amazement of their beauty and grace. My dad knew I'd never be able to shoot (I really did try but I don't think I ever took off the safety on my 30-30) but he loved the fact that I would come out to be with them all. Now, I can gut/drag/butcher one... but then I can't eat it. I have this thing that if I've ever met it "whole", I just can't eat it. But my bros give me meat every year and of course, it's gone almost immediately. So I still get my fix. I have 4 brothers who, 'til this day, are upset b/c I could out shoot them open sites when they all used scopes. Still can, I think. (I was pretty good with my 38cal and 9mm too. Squeeze, don't pull. )

Well, I've got a tip on a job myself and I'm off to check it out while still at my current job. Is that bad???

    Catch y'all later.

Thanks everyone! My honey and I are discussing it tonight (she's an academic librarian so her opinion will carry a lot of weight with me), it seems like a good thing but I am a tiny bit reluctant because some of the job is repetitive and I get bored easily...guess I need to buy and Ipod.

Knot - I sure hope I'll get some time to myself so I can finally meet Trek. BTW - the new boss is "family" and has offered a personal tour of the fun spots in SF.

Queen, congratulations on the job offer. It is really nice to be sought after and even if you don't take it, it will have been a great experience. But, I have to say that I think it's kind of a good idea to take it. You might get bored after a while, but you'll learn new stuff, have something elso on your resume and if it gets to be too boring, you can sniff around again. I'm not trying to tell you what to do, you are very capable of making the right decision, I just wanted to give you a different perspective.

BTW - the average North American changes careers once every 10 years.

    Queen - cooooool!

I am deeply frustrated that I can't find Rush's "Presto" on YouTube... y'mean YouTube doesn't contain the entire Universe?!?!!

    My spaghetti dinner was boring.

Time to go read "Science of the Discworld" and edjumacate myself. Again.
(not available on Amazon, only in the British Commonwealth as far as I know.) (but I could get S of the D 2 and 3 from Amazon)

Wonder if Brian Greene is on YouTube....

Thanks for the input Wahine, my trepidation is probably exacerbated by moving into such completely different territory.

    Yay Queen!

Guess I'm not average, I've been with the County for close to 30 years Not at the same job though, so a little average maybe.

I made Pork Tenderloin Diane tonight, with squash and grape tomatoes. It was really good.

    oops!

I'm sure the ladies in Boston weren't thinking Ooops when they saw this today http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599...-13762,00.html

Anywho, I had my catch up with my manager and she's annoyed as well with our HR dept. I get to write a letter of complaint along with a few suggestions to possibly help people being forgotten... Our area manager will see it as well

    *shakes head* hrrmrmmm...
