I do NOT have my tree up ... okay, I don't do one. I do try to, um, clean up the house and get my ten Christmas thingies out (the Hummel's I inherited and a pillow and stuff...) but (in solidarity with anybody else who's not a decorating whiz ) trees... my dishes will be done, okay
I *did* decorate my bicycle for hte parade. It's got a tree and lights I'm in this picture:

I hope you all realize that tree is fake - an expensive fake. Since I live alone it was just so difficult to go out by myself and hunt down a tree, get it into the holder and then take care of it. Fake tree takes me a day to put up but it's worth it especially if you hve "overdecoritis" like I do. I can manipulate the branches to fit certain ornaments and during the seasont he tree does not droop or change shape. I use Bath and Body Works pine scented plug ins to make up for lack of scent.

Oooh, I might have to look into those plug-ins! I use the Crabtree and Evelyn oil, but the scent disappears fairly quickly. A plug-in could solve that problem!

I'm debating whether to handmake cards that look like your bike-n-tree, Geonz; or whether to just buy a box of 42 bland cards at Costco for $15.

    Is that your Xtra cycle?

    Beautiful trees, you guys!!

Our tree experience has been rather interesting this year....

Well, we assembled our fakey tree yesterday and plugged it in to make sure the lights worked, etc. Some of the lights didn't come on, and my DH reassembled it to see if that was it. Nope. It's the tree. So, we decided to just make do with it this year and buy a new one next year.

We hadn't decorated it yet and I was sitting nearby doing some household-related paperwork. Pretty soon I started smelling something -- thought it was just my imagination until the smell started getting stronger. Yep, it was the tree. The thing was smoking!!!! Must have had a short somewhere.

So tonight, inevitably, we bought a new tree. Still have to put it up. Let's hope it's smokin' in a good way.

    Happy tree trimming, everyone...

Now I'm inspired to get my tree up. Was going to Thanksgiving weekend, but one of my dogs ended her battle with Cushings Disease. So I was bummed. I did get her buried in the back yard under the gazebo where she used to love to sit and watch the doves that nested in the climbing rose.

Then this past weekend I had a migraine. No biking (OK I've been really bad on that part), and no going to the gym to lift weights. Just lounge in bed and wait for the medicine to work. At least my kitties were happy to help me rest.

So maybe tonight I'll actually get the tree up. If I can get the thought of last year's opening my box of ornaments to discover ALL the roaches in the neighborhood had used the box as their personal high water shelter after Katrina. Icky icky icky. I know they're now safely out of creepy crawly way because I bought a Plastic box with a tight lid and sprinkled borax on the top for good measure. But the memories, the nasty memories.

Suzie - do you first load your photo at either photobucket or snapfish or one of these types of sites? You need to do that first. Then you just copy and paste the url over by using the insert image button. I sometimes have to clean up what copies over (I get [IMG} usually twice and have to delete one first).

oh i'm so sorry about your doggie..... and what a horrible time of year for it to happen (yes... ANY time to have it happen is horrible.... but having a bad event associated with a holiday... especially thanksgiving... it's somehow exonenitally (spelling) overwhelming and hurtful... ) i had no desire or ambition to put up our tree last year because we dealt with a very sudden illness and death of our beloved dog last year.... lost him the day after thanksgiving... that day will always be tainted for me now....

I typically don't put up a tree given I always travel so that I can be with my parents and one of my siblings and their family. Some years I decorate the cat tree (a real tree which has perches at the end of the branches for my buddies). However, this year I decided that was not a good idea with my two 8 month old kittens (Penelope and Twister). So this year I'll enjoy my younger brother's tree along with my parents and his family. All the pictures that have been shared are beautiful!

Yes, that's the Xtracycle - there were three of them in our group. The other two had kids on them, and the kids had wrapped Christmas Tree lights around their bodies - wish I'd thought of that!

I couldn't fix the picture size 'cause it's not my picture; https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/csmyth/www/ccbpl has even more pictures but they are big. (Normally I fix their size with the software that came with the camera.)

Howard rode almost 39 miles today... I'll only get in 15... hmmm... maybe I've got time for a lap around campus or three...

(found in morning un posted )

Went out in that hour's window before class and screamed off 5 laps around campus for 7 miles and worked up a veritable lather. (Started thinking: 10K = 6.2 miles; first indoor time trial is 12/17; TRAINING!!)

Alas, I'm not sure I'll get in any; more than the 15 today, though. It's the fifth already, though... 26 days to go and I've still got 147 miles on the guy

I'll be putting up my tree this coming weekend. Can't Wait - I don't really care about the ornaments but I just adore Christmas Lights! I use an old christmas table cloth for my tree skirt - it works great and it was a great deal on an after christmas sale. Sorry no pictures till I get a digital camera - hopefully, it will be under the tree this year!

BMCCASLAND: I'm so sorry about your doggie A couple of years ago, on Christmas Eve day, I woke up to find that my Little Kitty had a heart attack and died in the garage on his way back inside the house. It was very sad. I still have a hard time putting up the tree sometimes cause he just used to love to camp out under the christmas tree and sleep. He loved the smell of pine and he used to smell like pine all the time cause we live in the mountains. I even have a picture of him under the christmas tree the year he died. Little Kitty got buried in the back yard where he used to like to chase the birds!
