Nanci, why do you need the IM time for future reference? Are you going to try an IM sometime??? Yeah, I too would like to know where the 200 km. was. Are you back on the trusty Vitesse for these? I would love to see a pic of your stone path sometime, by the way. So Fagalo is hibernating outside this winter instead of doing the tub inside, then. Sounds like he's ready. And I love the Panther Xing sign.
Lise, what is J. studying in grad school? I'm sure you said at some point, but my search capacity tonight is low.
Am going home to Albany next Saturday the 18th, staying till the 25th, to see Mom. She sounds better every time I talk to her. Scary that so many body blows can happen so fast to her. I wasn't sure I'd ever hear her sound like herself again. She will probably go from the skilled nursing/rehab place to assisted living, not back home, which she knows. T'giving will be me, Mr. Salsa, and Mom at the nursing home's big dinner, and I expect will be kind of hard, since it will be her first T'giving not hosting a bunch of us at home. Any tips you guys might have for making it better/good/different/fun would be gratefully accepted. I also get to have my annual Friday night Thanksgiving leftovers dinner with my best friend, her very cool husband, and even cooler 27-year-old son and ditto fiance.
The Beeper seems to be doing reasonably well.
The house expansion is moving along. The recent rains did a serious test on the new roof and gutters--no leaks. This week, the plumbers are invading and will be all over the place--poor cats. The world of contractors and materials is weird and sort of oligopolistic. It's hard to get prices/costs on things---suppliers and fabricators will only bid to contractors, etc. Everyone gets a mark up. We are slowly picking paint colors. So you knew about the ochre living room with the blue wall. Now we are using the greeny-aqua color of the shutters in that Rousillon picture you saw, for the entry hall. Kitchen has a brick wall on one side, and I think we are going to do Caribbean paint colors in there---two different ocean blues and a lime green. Guest bedroom--blue grey and either sand or terra cotta. Our bedroom--warm white with grey-lavender trim. Bathroom---gold/tan granite, green tiles, maybe green and plum walls. I like color. But my weaving studio will just be offwhite, since I want the weaving and art to be the color in there. Still pondering the outside house color.
For absolutely no reason at all, except that this is TD and I sort of miss weaving, I am posting a picture of a sample I wove in a class a couple of years ago. I haven't woven in months, since everything is being stored in a container in the driveway. Sure hope I still like it when I get a real weaving studio to work in!

"My predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." O. Sacks
