It's the American River Bike Trail, also known as the Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail.

My husband and I rode the entire length of it this past Saturday; it was about 68 miles and a whopping 1500 feet of climbing. It's quite lovely, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
