    Hi I'm New!

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I started out as a mtn biker about 5 years ago, I have a trek 6000 wsd, and last July my husband (finally) decided what road bike he wanted ( a Trek 5.2 MAdone SL) Well...I saw my bike, a trek 1000 wsd and fell in love. I left the shop with a bike and he left trying to figure out how you can pick a bike just walking into a shop. ( I didn't research it for a year first)
I haven't been mtn biking since. I ride everyday while my son is at school, usually only 5 miles, but hey its riding. ( And my husband thought I'd never ride it!)
Anyway...I'm 28, I'm an Insurance Agency Producer, Mommy of one little boy and one Rat Terrier. I like to read Harry POtter books, make Jewelry and Drink wine. I also lift weights, I think it helps with the biking. I'm glad I finally found a forum for women bikers!

Nothing says you can't do both mountain and road riding! I'm a long-time roadie recently turned mountain biker (wannabee - still learning for sure!!) They both have their attractions - and down sides. I love not having to worry about cars or dogs on the trails, and it's great not to worry about roots, rocks, or tight switchbacks on the road. On the plus sides of both, riding in the woods is so quiet and peaceful, and you get to see wildlife. Riding on the road is so smooth and fast, and there's wildlife there too -- sometimes not still alive, tho.

Welcome to TE; this is a great place for both roadies and dirt chicks!
