Hey Duck,
Sorry to hear about the company screwing up. I do hope that when you receive the shipment, you will indeed write a letter to the company explaining the harship caused by thier inadequate business policy.

I'm still waiting for RubySlipperz and her fellow travelers (boxes of books, materials for a present for Trek420, UK Elephant's pillows and kitchen stuff, etc. etc.). They arrived in Oslo a week ago now, but that was NOT the port they were supposed to arrive at. They got through customs several days ago. at additional expense to me. I'd planned on just running down to the customs office at the port here and taking care of it myself, but since the crate got unloaded in Oslo I had to fork up a $70 handlers' fee for some company down there to do it. NOW same company says they won't ship the stuff up to me until it gets cleared up who's responsible for the extra shipping costs from Oslo to here. After waiting a few days I called to see what they'd learned. Which was nothing. So I called the company I'd contracted with in Madison, and they hadn't even got the question yet. The owner there was surprised to learn the shipment hadn't gone straight to Trondheim harbour as planned. So now she has to phone down the line to find out who screwed up, and meanwhile I have to make do without my bike (well, I have Big Red, but with only flat pedals; the spare clipless pedals are in the crate alongside Ruby) AND without my books! I have a report due this coming Thursday and all the missing references and examples are IN THAT CRATE!!!
Oh well. Nothing you gals can do for me, but thanks for letting me blow off steam. Now back to work. 14 hours worth of lectures to prepare for this coming week, as well as that report, and less than half of them done.
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.
