Hey, everybody!
I haven't been around lately because I've got a second job with a women's sports magazine as their webmaster. They are sending a free issue to anyone who wants to sign up for one and I thought some of you might be interested. (Hope this isn't too advertising-like for the boards!)
It's not exclusively cycing (drat!) but it's got alot of practical stuff for anyone who likes to spend time outside. Here's the bit that appeared in InMotion365, which is an e-newsletter specifically for the Colorado area:
Free Issue of Women’s Adventure Magazine - No fad diets, just fresh air! Tucked in this magazine’s pages you'll find adventure, travel, sports, and health updates. Join readers (women who live life to its fullest) and find adventure and inspiration in every issue.
And the link to sign up is: https://www.kable.com/pub/ddln/subal...n.asp?src=CQIM
Although I haven't been around here much lately, I have been riding and adding my miles over at BikeJournal-Team Estrogen. I think we're going to blow through our mileage goal by the end of September!!! I just can't believe summer has flown by so fast!![]()
Thanks Nuthatch, I just signed up for a free issue.

Cool! I signed up too... but it wouldn't fit my whole first name! Weird.
That IS weird. I'll let them know the field is too small. Thanks, gals!Originally Posted by GLC1968

I signed up too! I hope the magazine does well- so many women's sports magazines have failed - despite having good content.
Used to be Dandelion, right?
I liked it a few years ago, but it's too watered down for me now.
Maybe you can get it back to being juicy and exciting! And put some more biking stuff into it!
Get those folks HOPPING again! (just put a little bug in their ears, just for me, ok?)
Edit: I still get the magazine subscription, but I just glance through it and then take it to work and donate it to the waiting room. And I "borrow" the waiting room's copy of Bicycling.

I'm a subscriber also, I've enjoy the articles but agree that it needs to be more in depth. For example, the article on women's bikes in the May issue just skimmed the surface on bike fit and bike models.
There used to be a magazine called "Woman's Sports and Fitness" that was great. There was an issue on womens gear that reviewed Road bikes, mtn bikes, hiking gear, inline skates, tents, sleeping bags, etc. There was a feature on riding your first century etc. One issue had a Bicycle Buyer's Bible that was 12 pgs of bike information. Many of the issues were "keepers" and excellent reference guides, I've kept some of them even though the products are now outdated.
I miss that magazine because I learned so much and would love to see another one like it.
Unfortunately, it was bought out by Conde Nast and they ruined it. It became a glitzy New York mag and I dropped my subscription.
