Skyline-Oakland Traffic Safety

While reading the post on the Pinehurst closure I noticed this website, created I think the wake of the fatal accident a couple weeks ago between the speeding motorcylist and cyclist....

At any rate, for anyone who rides this road, please take a look...some good information and ideas:

There are number of very thoughtful proposals - I hope the City will take some action, and neighbors up there as well - seems a good mix of suggestions if actions local residents can take and a range of city actions from cheap to more expensive. The idea of a traffic circle at the Shepherd Cyn/Pinehurst/Skyline intersction is a great one - especially with the trailheads there as well.

I have a friend who lives in the 8300 block of Skyline - just past Skyline Gate, and I'll talk to him about if his neighbors are doing anything. And I'll write to Jean Quan.

I presume many of the same issues apply to Grizzley Peak too.

Yeah, I thought they have some good ideas....something does really need to be done. I too like the idea of a traffic circle at that intersection.....anything to slow folks down. I'm writing some letters as well....
