Me, AuntieK and a friend I call Spinster (our spin instructor) volunteered today at the VIP tent. Chris Wherry won the 8 mile out and back time trial through the Heber Valley in a bit over 15 minutes. He also wears the yellow jersey. Those guys can haul!
AuntieK and Spinster got to hang out a little with the teams, AK will have to give her report. I was at the tent working credentials. After the race, some of the riders came and ate lunch. The tent was very small, so we couldn't accommodate all inside. Autograph seekers were making sure those who were signing had shaved legs (sign of a rider rather than a crew member)
I did have Chris Wherry sign my volunteer t-shirt (that's him signing Spinster's shirt) and then I spilled about 1/2 C black beans on down the front when my plastic fork broke while eating lunch and flipped my plate on me. Tide With Bleach and I have been working on the shirt and it looks like the stains are about out and Chris' autograph is preserved. Yay!![]()
Non-camera images of the day: 1. One Toyota rider's family (grandma included) have been at all the stages. It was so cute to see the rider's mom running down the road as her son left the start house, cheering him on. You are never too old to have your mom as your most avid cheerleader!2. One rider getting a lengthy goodbye/goodluck kiss, hug, etc. from his girlfriend. It was right by where I was stationed, so I looked the other way. I guess riders have lives off the bike too

They are unedited and some of them are kind of poor pictures. Some show the start/finish area, some show AuntieK and Spinster and yes, that is me reaching for my camera as the course car is going to leave. There are pictures of the course as well. Most of course pictures were taken from a zooming car, so please forgive their quality.
