Here it is - Road ID Order Info!

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Ok Ladies, you asked for it, you got it!

Road ID (www.roadid.com) is offering, for 30 days, a 20% discount to us TE ladies! This is for any product they offer and they ship ANYWHERE in the world! The coupon is effective right now, and is good through September 1, 2006. Here are some suggestions from the owner:

    1. on line 1 of your ID, put your name\\year of birth (don't put dob as it makes it easier for identity theft).

    2. On line 2 of your ID list city, state and country.

    3. Line 3 list your home phone (not cell) as home and the number. This gives them the ability to find your home address.

    4. If you have lots of info, CALL IN your order as they can print on both sides.

    5. If ordering on line, you can not enter the coupon code until you are checking out. It is option 1 - coupon code. Don't confuse this with gift certificate or gift card because the coupon code won't work on either of those lines.

    6. If you have a medical condition but are not currently taking any meds, word it as "On No Meds", not "No Meds". The later could be confused meaning you don't want medical help to give you meds for your accident.

    7. If you ever get in an accident and have a road id tag destroyed i.e. damaged from the accident or cut off by medical personel, contact them and they will replace them for you FOR LIFE!!!. How's that for a selling point?

    8. Finally, if you're trying to line up a date for Lise, an 800 number will be set up for vital statisics to be left for a follow up phone call - JK!!

Please PM me for the coupon code - I don't want to leave it on here for security reasons. This is a small company and they are swamped right now, but I ordered one today and it will ship on the 8th so I don't think that's too bad. There is no TE on the ID because that would limit us to only one tag and there would be an engraving charge, but hey, I'm sure you'll think of the TE ladies every time you put it on! Enjoy and stay safe!!
    Dar

    Great deal!

For anyone who is planning to order a RoadID, I'd encourage you to look at the suggestions on the RoadID product page. I can't link directly to the suggestions here, but if you click on the Sample Text button next to each product it will bring up a list. I've heard from many folks who only put their name & emergency contact info on their IDs. For passing on immediate info to emergency personnel, I think it's a good idea to go beyond that.

The suggestions that Dar listed above are great.

But I thought that maybe it would help some of you contemplating orders to see what type of info I have on my id (and maybe not, if this isn't helpful, please ignore...) Oh, and just as background, I live alone, so having my home phone number doesn't really do any good at all...

My RoadIDs have info printed on both sides, including:`
    • my home city, state, USA
    • Phone numbers for 2 different emergency contacts
    • Name of my health insurance company (but not my id because at the time I bought my RoadID the insurance company was still using social security numbers as ID and I didn't want that floating around visibly!)
    • Name & phone number for my primary care physician
    • Allergy & drug allergy info (or lack of allergies)
    • year of birth (as suggested by dar) in format YOB 19nn
    • organ donor

I've had one for a while now, but since reading Denise's advise on other threads about all the info she has on hers, I've been contemplating getting another so I could add things like insurance company, YOB, organ donor. This seems like just the push I needed.

This is great. I have a situation that I doubt many people have, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

I am blind in one eye. I had a bad accident and was knocked unconscious several years ago. Luckily, my riding buddy knew that I was blind in one eye and told the EMTs. When they look to see how the pupils respond to light, my bad eye didn't respond, and that can be a sign of serious brain damage.

So I will put on my roadID that I am blind in my left eye.

Anyways, it might be helpful to someone, although I really hope that you all have full use of BOTH your eyes!

Just received my Road ID today - thanks again Dar for arranging for the discount. Received an additional order form and there's a cool FIXX ID (neck ID) that I'm going to now order. Hmmm . . . which image do I choose?!?!?!

I'm very pleased with my purchase and I encourage others to order during this "discount month." We can never be too safe
