I might be persuaded to do some riding up in your parts. Are there good road rides that don't include the AR trail? I hate that thing.

off trail
There's always the group hill ride on saturdays that the Ophirs do from the Coffee Republic parking lot. Leaves at 8:30 a.m. w/ 35-45 mile options. I do variations of the same ride on sundays too. There are lots of options to change up the ride w/ other climbs to keep your interest "peaked" (oh I'm sorry about that one!)
