    First Ruby Slipper Ride

My box from TE was waiting for me when we got back from picking up Thom's parents at the airport yesterday. I tried my new shoes on, wore them around for a bit, decided they fit well and put in the cleats.

It was nearly 100 degrees here, so I opted for no Saturday ride. But I got out nice and early today. I rode just under 40 miles - no hot foot and the shoes feel good. It's easy to adjust them as you're riding. And they are very walkable.

Next weekend MP is planning a death march ride for us - anybody want to come? so I can preview parts of the Mount Tam double. If I don't get hot foot on that ride, I'll feel like I've got a real winner.

    My ruby slippers.

how beautiful! I tried on a lot of shoes the other day and the only ones that
felt good were a yucky light blue.
    enjoy!

Looking forward to hearing how they do. Do they have a special feature with which you can click the heels to get home when you're just done with riding for the day? My grandmother always said red shoes ran faster; I'm sure it holds true for the bike as well! L.

Good luck with your cool new shoes. Looks like they match that snappy red jersey you're wearing in your avatar!

Those are MY shoes. I have three pairs of 'em (don't faint, Colorado Cyclist had them on sale last year so I got two spare pairs in case Sidi stopped making them in that lovely rose color). Don't you love them? They have awesome "illuminlite" properties, too, so they are great after dark. Hey, they will match your NEW BIKE, too.

By the way, I broke down and bought YOUR wicked expensive shorts, V.

I hope you like them! If you don't, I'll take them off your hands. If we're the same size - I had to get an L. BUT I really hope you like them as much as I do.

Let me know if you see those shoes on sale anywhere else. If they turn out to be right...meaning no hot foot on a century...I'll buy a couple of pair too!

Thom didn't buy the matching bike theory.

those are gorgeous - not like the geeky silver and pink my specialized shoes came in.

I used to covet those shoes so much, (sort of like how I covet the WELGs) but I couldn't afford them, even on sale, so I got a lesser model of Sidis from Sierra Trading Post, which I love so much I no longer covet the Ruby Slippers. Though they are a perfect match for Lava...I think the battle we had with BF's soon-to-be-returned-Christmas-present Mega Sidis with that same buckle has turned me against them, even though we FINALLY figured out how to operate it.
