    Mmelindas good news!!

Hi all you wonderful TE women! My WiFi has been awful --- so no posting for the last two weeks, and I really missed reading the threads and posts!

Bottom line: repeat mammograms and ultrasounds by the wonderful breast cancer (woman) doctor = looks good, probably just fatty tumors in both breasts; no indication of anything bad; she plans a needle aspiration on the one that's on the surface (that we can feel and see), but she expects to get nothing since it's probably (90% sure) fat. She did say 10% of all cancers do NOT show up on mammograms and ultrasounds, so ladies, be informed of that amazing shocking fact! Will know in a week or so, but God has blessed me to have good results on everything so far.

Problem no. 2 = postmenopausal uterine bleeding; my new gyn lady doc did a transvaginal ultrasound and it was normal!! then she did a biopsy (and the specimen probe got stuck in me but she got it out, much scarring on the cervix because of multiple cauterizations in the past so cervix was like a vise) and the biospy came back NORMAL!!! So, evidently, a hormonal imbalance caused the bleeding and there's no concerns whatsoever, I do not need a hysterectomy!!! Weeehhoooooo!

Problem no. 3 = type 2 diabetes diagnosed a month ago; in two weeks, my Hemoglobin A1C test dropped from 6.5, which is clinical diabetes, to 6.1, which is pre-diabetes. Testing daily with my new glucometer shows consistent NORMAL blood sugars!! So it is under total control and in "remission" due to correct diet and exercise. If I get my A1C down to 5.9, I am no longer diabetic! I've lost 10 lbs, have dropped my cholesterol from 202 to 159, which is fantastic, and my LDLs (bad cholesterol) went from 147 down to 112 and need to be at 70 for my conditions!

My blood pressure is great, I'm eating carefully, exercising three times a week, riding my bike, swimming and doing home exercises. I feel great and I am the healthiest I've been in my whole last 20 years! I still need to drop 140 lbs, but all my problems are going away with the biking and exercise, diet.

I pulled a muscle and tendon in my rt leg out of place (that won't come back ever) but I am still biking, up to mid gear range, 4th gear, 8 plus miles per hour and 6 miles at a time. This may seem miniscule for the rest of you but it's awesome for me. At my Physical therapist, I am spinning 3 miles in 15 minutes and feeling strong, twice a week. Need to build my inner knee muscles my doc says but she is proud of my progress towards health!!

Yeah for biking and for exercise and living healthy!!!! Love you all!!

That is fantastic!! I'm glad you are comfortable with these doctors and that you are getting all good news. Keep up the work with your diet and exercise, and it sounds like you are doing great! (and don't worry about your speed and distance, believe me, we all start somewhere)

I do NOT think 6 miles is miniscule. For me the first 3-4 miles are when my legs feel like lead, or like I'm biking through molasses. Once I'm warmed up I'm fine for a dozen or two more, but the thought of doing the first 6, over and over, is pretty daunting.

Sounds like you're doing great! And I'm glad to hear the biopsies and so on are coming back negative!

    mmelindas,

That's great news! You've made great progress on so many fronts!

Keep on pedaling, no matter what! The only way to get better/faster/stronger is to keep pedaling.

Here's to your continued health and progress!

Thanks from the bottom of my heart to all of you!!!

You women take my breath away with your enthusiasm and support!

When I need a boost, feel like not riding or being a couch potato today, I just have to read these wonderful posts!!!

I promise to get my blog updated next week, I have tons of new photos --(can you tell I love photography?)

Wow, you all make me feel so accomplished for even a tiny ride of 6 miles!!! with that kind of support, maybe I will be able to do LRRH next year!!

Did you all see those photos from LRRH?? I just now got to see them since my Wifi was lousy these last two or three weeks! Wanted to go up but my hubby and son's schedule, working late, it shot my sleep and on 4 hours I couldn't do it, even just to watch...I wanted to meet everybody I could, but next year, okay?

I love all of you and thanks, THANKS so much for all the wishes, congrats and love!!!!!

Way to Go!! Every pedal stroke we can make is one more closer to improved health and you're proof of that. Glad to hear that the tests are improving and that the doc thinks the lumps are benign. I had a fatty tumour removed 2 years? ago from my left breast and we are watching what appears to possibly be the same in my right, I know it can be nerve wracking.

I'm so glad to hear all your good health news, and it's all due to you being such a wise and brave woman when it comes to taking care of yourself now.

I second what margo says - it's not the number of miles, it's the integrity of your effort that counts! And that's mental/spirituall effort, too! I think that we who are being brave enough to transform our previously neglected bodies get BIG points, possibly tiaras for that kind of courage, too.

Ok, tiaras for everyone! (& they magically fit over the bike helmets, too!)
