The "Can't Ride My Bike" Blues...

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Today is such a perfect day to take a ride. I had my first ride on my new bike on Thursday and I haven't had a chance to get back on it yet!

I am just itching to go today but alas, I can't strap the almost 4yo to my back. lol

It's almost like I would imagine addiction withdrawal feels like!

    Soon.... I hope.

You might think about getting a trailer for the almost 4yo. He/she will love it and it will allow you to get out and ride!

I second the trailer. The kids love to ride in it (don't forget their helmets!), if they get tired they can just fall asleep, and when you take it off your bike you feel like you can ride 3x as fast

I bought a cheap one at Wal-Mart. I know there are better quality ones, but I was more concerned about the budget. It works great, and the construction is pretty good. The kids are all buckled in in a harness (the one I got has the option for one or two riders, with a max weight of 50lbs per rider), and you can see the thing from a mile away with the big flag and the loud color scheme. It's also really easy to attach and has a quick disconnect from the bike for when you want to go solo.

Really, they're not too bad weight-wise. The only complaint I have about mine is the back is solid, so when we hit a headwind it acts like a drag chute. Sure does make the muscles stronger though

    I got to ride today!!!

I ended up skipping out on ds#2's baseball game since I worked later than I had planned. Came home, and hopped on the bike.

I was a bit nervous on the way home as I didn't calculate my timing very well and it was almost dark by the time I got back. Dark + no night riding gear = not good!

Anyway, all was fine and I had a very nice ride.

    I bought a trailer today.

Boy was dd pissed when we didn't make it home before sundown so we didn't ride today. Big brother's baseball game ran long. Plan to take a ride with her tomorrow. She (and I) can't wait!

Thanks for the suggestion - I hadn't even thought of that. I got it on sale too!!

Your biggest challenge isn't someone else.
It's the ache in your lungs and the burning in your legs and the voice inside that yells "CAN'T".
But you don't listen. You just push harder.
And then you hear the voice whisper "CAN".
And you discover that the person you thought you were is no match for the one you really are.
