    Two firsts and a mini-brag!

Bought myself a pair of padded biking shorts today! I had promised myself I'd buy them when I was halfway to my weight loss goal (20 lbs by summer). I haven't actually tried them out yet but hope to this weekend. Didn't buy the super expensive ones but I think these are pretty comfortable. Also ordered a tank that is supposed to arrive next week sometime. It's going to look SO much better than the old capri pants (not the riding type) and t-shirt I usually wear. Now I need some real cycling shoes, gloves, and clipless pedals, oh, and a road bike too

The other "first" was that I actually passed dh going UPHILL the other day. I was feeling so strong for a change and I thought he was just being nice and riding slow for me, but no! he said it was a legitimate pass! He was way ahead of me most of the ride of course, but it was a HUGE first for me, the hill slug...

Finally, the brag - I reached my goal of riding 800km before the end of June today! (Interestingly it coincided with losing that first 10 lbs - think there's a connection? Guess I have to shoot higher - going for 1500 km by the end of summer now.

I just love this biking thing...

Congrats on weight and distance goals! Yes, just keep spinning away and those pounds will go right along. AND, after you come back from a ride, just eat normally- don't over do it! Then your weight loss will be much easier!

Congrats on your hill climb! Women excel in this regard, men excel on the downside- something to do with body mass!

Congratulations on your success! Don't you just love passing a man on a hill? This biking thing is very empowering, isn't it?
