    Sewing shirts

I have 2 Misty Mountain tops--nice fit--nice colours--nice fabric. What I need to know--does anyone-can anyone-point me to pattern making specifically for cycling shirts? And--What is this material that is used for them. The Misty mountain line--seems more porous than shirts and tops I have seen by other companies.

here is a link to help you out:

    sewing bike jerseys

Also, several members on this board have sewn their own clothes, do a search and you'll find some good information. Irulan and Mary9761 are two members I can think of off of the top of my head who have posted their wares.

I noticed patterns for lots of sports clothing by "Jalie" (hope I´ve spelt it properly), including cycling kit. I think I found the link on www.sewingpatterns.com

I can't imagine why I never thought about sewing my own jersey! Great idea - I will have to go check out G-Street Fabrics to see if they have anything that will work for fabric. I would personally go for the reverse engineered version of a jersey I like, since I have done that with other clothes I have sewn. Thanks for the great post!

Thanks for the info, too. I bought some shirts from Alertshirts.com for my commute. They are great, but too long and there's no pocket in the back. I'm going to shorten them and use the extra fabric to make a pocket for the back.
