The only one I saved was from the Top Hat last year when the entire team signed it. That was very special.

Does anyone else save their numbers? You know, from organized rides? When I rode my very first "event" ride that had a number I was SO excited... I mean, ME... I had a number... me who spent all her young adult years very overweight completely inactive...
so I kept that number and taped it under my bike gear rack in my garage... since then I have saved every number for every event... and they're all taped upTo me, there's something really fun about having those silly numbers...
Anyone else do this... or am I the only nut out in left field???![]()

Yes. I have all of mine. My riding friend from work and I have even framed some of them with our medals and put them up in our office conference room.
You mean something like this?

I too keep mine...although they just hang out in a box under my bed as I haven't yet decided where to post them.
I keep all the race stats written on the back of my race numbers for future reference...so there's a good reason to keep those.
yeah! exactly like that! LOL... Mine are taped to the garage wall... but yep, good to know I'm not the only one!![]()

I have some of mine. Some disintegrated.
I will say I was a bit panicked when I though I had lost my Death Ride number - which has a sticker on it from each of the five passes. Then I realized I had clipped it to a magnet on the refrigerator!! (Probably should use that as motivation to open the refrigerator less, but I don't.)

I've kept most of mine but I don't have that many, just Peanut Ride and Ride Across Indiana. There's a little corner on top of a bookcase for my tiny little athletic endeavor collection - it amazes me that there's stuff there at all since those sportsmanship trophies from chldhood![]()
A thousand years ago when I was running - and did a sorts of events from 5Ks to marathons and tri's, I kept my numbers (and medals) for 2 years... after a while it was just this big mess, a pile of paper so now its all gone. I have kept the numbers and medals for my first 10k, marathon and century. What I still collect and keep are patches, which I love to get. They all go on my "patch hat", an old cycling cap that now weighs about 10 pounds just full of patches and pins.

Yes, all of ours have gone into a box, along with newspaper clippings and some pages from the local club website... "one of these days" I am going to finish the scrapbooks I have started!
Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
"I will try again tomorrow".
I save my numbers and route sheets! They are like trophies to me. Glad I'm not alone.
Yup, I've held onto my race bibs from running 5k's up to my marathon and my cycling numbers as well. I think I am going to make wind chimes out of the medals though, instad of letting them sit in a box.

Just like you, I was unathletic, overweight, miserable. Now I'm an athlete! I've got my race numbers clipped to fishing line and strung up along the wall around the top of my kitchen. 15 of them at the moment; there will be 16 after Sunday. My two race medals (1/2 marathon and marathon) are hanging off a picture frame in the kitchen. I went to flatten out my marathon number with a iron--but forgot that you can't put an iron directly against a plastic race number! Fortunately, only the corner melted. I have saved every road race (running) and bike event that I have participated in. They hang on a bulletin board that covers most of a wall in my computer room. I think they are a sign of accomplishment![]()
Don't have any, but you bet I'd save 'em if I did!
