    Good Morning Nanci!

Congrats to your BF!!!! YEAH!!! Mommelisa is doing it too; and let me tell ya, she's gonna rock! I so wish I could come and cheer personally but I don't think my DH or our budget would go for it

    Very exciting stuff!!!!!!

Yeah, Melissa! And My friend Stephen aka "big daddy", but he's a local. He's a cool guy! He did it a few years ago as his first, and the TNO (tri newbies online) gang were all around their computers like you guys were for me! I was one of them. It was soo cool to see him come across the finish line!! The feed was actually UP for that race... argh..

Congratulations, BF of Nanci! Has he ever done an IM before? Whew! My brother's getting married around that time, but if it works out, maybe I could come to Florida and meet Dillbird and Maizey and the crew! Cheer for Melisa and BFON! L.

He's done IM Florida once, last year, and the year before did the Great Floridian, which is iron-distance, but apparently not as cool. (Brand name!!)

Both venues are great for spectating.

IM Florida has _great_ beaches. And no hills.

Great Floridian (which I don't think closes out) is down in Clermont, which is the tri capitol of Florida. It's in October.

That'd be cool if you could come down!

    WOW! Sounds fun!

So, to get into the Ironman Florida... does one have to place? Or was he in a lottery? Or does it just sell out quick?

Sounds like it is hard to get into?

It sells out within hours of opening the day after the current year's race. So, you either have to qualify in a half IM (sitll have to pay), or buy a corporate slot, (like so expensive you can't even think about it) _or_ be at an event where they are either giving away slots in a raffle (still have to pay) or attend an event where they give away slots, first come first serve, afterwards (like sit in a line for hours waiting for them to start taking names and checks). That's what he did.

    WOW! That sounds challenging!

Is it like this for every Ironman?

It sounds like he is going to do a great job!
