I've gotten those radar thingies blinking myself :-) (not 32... but we don't have hills!)

This morning when I went to spinning at 5:30, I noticed the Mill Valley police-types setting up one of those automatic speed gauge signs at the bottom of a little hill, Camino Alto - the kind of sign with radar that says "Your speed is ___" and flashes a light at you when you exceed the speed limit.
Now Mill Valley has more police per capita than anywhere else I've ever lived. They'll ticket you for going 27 in a 25 zone, and I got pulled over for making a left against the red arrow on my bike at 6 am with no cars around and knowing I would never trigger the light. (The motorcycle cop who pulled me over was super cool - and I agree I really should NOT have turned against the light and cyclists should follow the rules of the road, but it happened to be perfectly safe at the time, etc....)
But I digress....
So I rode over the hill to the doctor today and when I was coming back I'd forgotten all about that sign. But I got it to angrily flash my speed of 32 in a 25 at me! Which was pretty good considering I was easing up from the descent to come to a stop at the light just past the sign!
Anyone ever been ticketed for speeding on their bike? That's a secret goal of mine...
Edit: I just remembered that on the 600k, I set one off going 6 mph, and I was like "I know! I suck! Get over it!"

I thought I was being a total stud on my new (non-recumbent) bike a few weeks back on my way to work. Nope, darn thing said I was going 13 mph! Are they sure those are accurate?
My brother got a speeding ticket, and had to pay it. He also got his bike disassembled coming into the US from Cananda. He was riding across the border every day (we grew up just south of it) to get his route/mileage on the flats along the ocean, and someone finally decided he must be smuggling drugs in the frame of his bike.
Wonder if my speed will change now that I've got Speedplay Frogs? (which ,by the way, cost 1/4 what my bike cost!)

Wow! That's awesome! I can't believe you got a ticket for an incorrect turn with no cars around. I guess it goes to show - we do need to abide by traffic laws, even when there are no cars. Ugh!
it used to be a bigger hill...Originally Posted by shadon

That is so cool. I hope they set one up on the downhill side of my neighborhood hill. (So far it is always on the uphill.) Maybe I will call traffic control as a "concerned citizen" and request one...The ones we have say SLOW DOWN if you are speeding. I would have some take my picture!!!
Wow and I thought I was the only one whoever thought about trying to get a speeding ticket on my bike. We have this one hill near or cemetary that is easy to get over 30mph on and its in a 25 zone. I got to admit it sounds like it would be a cool thing to tell my other cycling friends.
I think the fastest I've gotten on those around here is 15--they seem to only set them up in the flats. By the way, if a red light won't change for a bicycle, it is considered defective and the ticket should be tossed out.
I'm with someone else here on the board that said if they ever got a speeding ticket on their bike they'd frame it! Heck I'd even go to traffic school for that!! Compare chainring tatts and bad biker girl stories with all the other ingrates! LOL
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"
