Betagirl does her first 200K of her brevet series this Saturday! Go beta! Go beta!

I'll be travelling to and from Virginia this weekend for my cousin's wedding, so I won't be here to cheer and tune in for the report until Monday.

You'll do great, of course! I'm looking forward to reading all about it. Lise

    Thanks Lise

The forecast has shifted a bit from rain all day to PM showers and a high of 61. I was really looking forward to 125 miles in the rain. Because that makes for a happy cyclist. Start time is 8 am, so I'm just going to drive in the moring. I'm an early riser in general, so it's no big deal to leave here at 5am. Only about a 2 hour drive.

I'll let you all know how it goes. I spoke with a colleague yesterday who knows the area and said it's pretty up there, lots of ravines and such. In other words it's hilly But at least it sounds more scenic than my rural routes outside of chicago (corn, soybeans, and cows).

Nanci - I got my Topeak bike post bag in the mail the other day. I'm going to install that puppy tonight. Thanks very much for the tips on what to get. I need to pick up some more BUTT'R, and a better rain jacket. I'll be packing an extra pair of socks or 2 in case it does rain.

I'm already thinking about the 300k, which is May 13th. 400k is June 3rd. I have a schedule conflict with the 600k with this club/group so I'll have to find a different one to do. Wait, I haven't even decided on that one....

    Good Luck Beta!!

I'm sorry it won't be raining on you all day! ;-) I'll be thinking of you and sending you mental support as I am out riding 40 miles to try out my sandals on Saturday, at the Nature Coast Trail, and 100 miles at the Tour de Forts in Jacksonville, FL on Sunday, a century I have not ridden before.

Thanks everyone. Got my bag packed. I never made it to the LBS for a better rain jacket, so I hope the one I have does me justice. The forecast isn't looking too hot, with some decent winds and rain. I'll take one or the other, just not both please!

I keep saying to myself it's only 125 miles....that sounds so warped. But I did 91 in some serious wind on sunday, and I've done my share of centuries in windy conditions. I don't know the route at all, so that should make things interesting. My goal is to finish in 9 hours. I'll try to post something tomorrow night when I get home.

    Time to get some z's.

By now, you should be well on your way! You and Veronica (here in California) both riding just on different roads! Two 200's in one day!(A double metric and a double century) How cool is that!

P.S.- If you did 91 miles, 125 isn't that much further. I'm sure you'll be fine!!! Looking forward to ride reports from both of you!
    Nancy
