A custom all the way down to the paint Giro, eh? I'm jealous.

I've been waiting a new bike for a couple of years but have to admit the ticket prices kept me from making a purchase. A friend of my BF recently gave him an recumbent bike he had built to do with as he pleased. BF asked me if I was interested and well the seed was planted and the price was too good to not take advantage of. BF told me last night he would order my frame next week (Bachetta Giro 20 - small frame). So it looks like by the first of June I will have a new bike to ride. I don't plan on getting rid of my "little blue bike" for I do love to ride it but I do plan on spending a fair amount of time learning to ride/handle the recumbent and I'm hoping this in turn will give my wrists the rest they need and I'll be offered some relief from the tendonitis I suffer from in both wrists. Now all I have to do is decide what color I want my new bike painted (frame comes raw). So many choices glad I have a couple of weeks to reach a conclusion.

Congratulations! Enjoy building her -- what a great feeling to know every little bit of your bike.

Wow, am impressed and envious all at once...
To build a new bike would be so much fun... right down to the paint job - I think that is what I would like most...
But to build a new bike - wow, so scarey and daunting to me...
Mebbe you can post us some progress pix as you go MakBike? I'd be very very interested... and of course the mandatory finished pix, and you-on-the-new-bike pix...

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
"I will try again tomorrow".
