    I found a riding partner!

    Good morning ladies!

I was out riding this morning for my first relatively long ride and was stopped by a woman that was walking in the park. She was looking for a riding partner. Her partner moved recently (turns out I knew the riding partner) and she needs someone to ride with. Yippee! And - she likes to venture out of town (which I haven't wanted to do by myself) AND, get this... she's not afraid of dogs!!! How perfect is this! I told her about TE - hopefully she will join us. She also knows a couple of women in nearby towns - we may try to get a group ride (all women) together - kind of like the one Nanci was talking about where the stop to smell the flowers. Wouldn't that be nice?! This new bike is bringing me good luck!

Very nice Fish - sounds like the two of you are going to have many wild and wonderful adventures!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

Oh what fun. It is good to find a partner that enjoys the same type of riding as you do. Have fun!!!!

    Great!

So happy for you fishdr! I do get tired of riding alone sometimes; all the local cycling club members are either hardcore racers who I have no hope of riding with, or total beginners. Hope you have many happy miles with your new partner!

that's awesome! It is so much more fun for me to have someone to ride with than to go it alone... I don't mind riding alone sometimes, but riding in small groups gives me social time AND makes us more visible than a solo ride...

    very, very cool...

How great to find a riding partner! I'd love to have one as well, because riding with other people motivates me to ride farther and longer than I do alone. Unfortunately, I work weekends so I ride during the week.
Is there somewhere on this site or another site where one can look for riding partners?

fishdr - know what this reminds me of? You now how guys will say the best thing about owning a dog is going to the park and suddenly being a chick magnet because of their cute dog? Well, now you have a cute bike and people are just flocking to you.

mtkichn - lots of people are posting in the various "Places to Ride" regional forums to find riding partners.

Thanks for being so excited for me! You have made so many great points. I do think this will motivate me to ride farther. I never feel like I can venture out of town alone. Laps in town get old pretty quick!

Dianyla - I like the thought on the cute bike.

I will think good bike partner thoughts for all of you that are looking for one

    The power of the socks!

I smile and get a breath of confidence everytime I put them on. My daughter asks me each time that I come in from a ride if they worked
