Now I've gone and done it! One of my goals is to do this ride. http://www.biketcba.org/DALMAC/dframe.html
My name just today turned up on the official ride list. I will be riding with my daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons, 13 and 14 years old. I have from now until Labor Day weekend to train for it. So far my longest ride has been 50 miles. I will be just a few months shy of the big 60 birthday by the time this ride takes place. I guess it's now or never! Wish me luck and a good summer of training. Thanks gals, for being such an inspiration to me. I have learned so much from you.

Sandy, which ride are you doing? I'm on the list for the bridge route. I did the 4-Day East last year. It's a great ride. Good luck with your training. I ride mostly in SW Michigan to prepare.

Wow, Susan! I'm impressed. We are doing the 4 day East. It is suposed to be the least difficult. My kids did the 4 day West last year. My daughter said it was as hard for her as any of the marathons she has run. We live in the central lower pennisula so I will do some traveling to the north or west side of of the state to do some hill training.

Sandy ... if you're interested, I would be willing to exchange a copy of my last year's 4-Day East map for a copy of last year's 4-Day West. I mapped the route in Topo and have my altimeter profiles also if you'd like them (to give you an idea of the 4-day East terrain). It's a comfortable ride. You'll enjoy it. I hated the safety flags however and almost wrecked when I stopped because I'd forget that the flag staff was there!

    Hi Susan,
Sounds like a great idea. I'll see if my daughter still has her 4 day west map and let you know. I understand that the 4 day east route has changed from last year, but perhaps some of it will be the same.
