    Tri 101... and now Tri 202 training

    I live in Dallas, Texas and here we have a triathlon training group- The Dallas Athletes.

    The coach of the program runs a Tri 101 and then a Tri 202 program. I am almost done with the Tri 101 program, and being able to train with people my speed has really helped!

    Specifically, my cycling has improved greatly, because I'm not trying to keep pace with a 22 MPH average group, or a 13 MPH average group. Now days, I can run 20-25 miles with a 17 MPH.

    Swimming isn't a problem, because I was a competitive swimmer. My running is horrible though, because of some serious leg pain I experience. But, it's even getting better. I think I ran around 15 minutes of a 22 minute run on Sat (after a 23 mile, 17.5 average bike ride).

    Anyhoo... I am so excited about being able to train with a group my speed, for another couple of months. It's really helping me out a lot and getting me focused for the upcoming tri season.

    Oh, and I do my first tri of this season on 4-8-06! It will be my 3rd one (I did 2 last season).

    that is SO cool! I've looked for some training groups around here but so far the only ones I've found are more than an hour away and that doesn't work when you've got childcare issues to deal with!

    What a great improvement you've made! Please be sure to post after your april tri so we can hear all about it!

    Wow! This is exciting. I wanted to join the UBC tri club, mostly for the swimming coaching, but they're always full. Maybe next year...
